Why Can't DC fanboys get it right?

I'm not lying. Like I say all anyone has to do is look at your post history. You went over there and went on a jealous tirade and then pulled out the Dark Knight card.

What's sad is you have to call me a Marvel troll, because you haven't been able to come up with anything subtantive.

Quit nerd raging and try to actually have a conversation.

Yeah, you are lying. You're trying to paint me as going as a jealous tirade. All I said was that The Avenger's photo op wasnt that impressive since we didnt get any news. How is that jealous? I also said I'd be excited when we do get news we havent heard before.

As for the Dark Knight I made a simple statement: The same people shouting "Suck it DC!" are the same people who constantly compare their favorite heroes movies to The Dark Knight. The whole thing screams insecurity from some of you, and its sad and annoying. As for other threads where I "pulled out the TDK" card, i was saying that if fans can constantly bemoan the fact that DC dosent put out as many movies as Marvel, other fans can say that Marvel hasnt put out a movie like TDK. The "DC dosent make as many movies as marvel" card is just as annoying.

I'm calling you a troll because you are one. You're a Marvel biased fanboy who rears his head to gloat about Marvel's success. When I go to the Cap, Thor, and Avengers boards,at least I'll drop a comment once and a while, but mainly I lurk. You? you only come to the DC boards when Marvel drops news so you can say "See DC? Marvel's got you beat!"

I havent been able to come up with "anything substantial" because I dont wanna have a discussion with people like you. I thought I made that clear. I dont care for people who try to make claims that arent true. The truth is, you have some silly vendetta against me, and now you seem to be following me around. I'll have a discussion with you when you:

1. Stop claiming I stirred up **** when I DIDNT

2. Stop coming at me when I make a post. This is the second or third thread where YOU instigated with ME. If you want a discussion, dont come at me with "maybe YOU'RE the one being stupid" or "You dont have anything to say".

If you cant do those two things, we have nothing else to discuss. Period.

To me, the biggest difference between Marvel fandom and DC fandom is COIE. There isn't nearly the schism in Marvel's fanbase as there is in DC's. I mean I'm as guilty of it as anyone, but you can find Superman fans (the worst divide is amongst them IMO) who violently disagree on almost everything. There's a little bit of division among Marvel fans over mutants vs superheroes but it's NOTHING like the schism amongst DC fans.

Also each of the Marvel studios movies are tying together and making a narrative of sorts. DC's movies lack that unity. And lastly, DC changes it's own in-universe history about as often as a hooker changes partners and that doesn't help things either.

The only thing clost to that I said was that Marvel blew away DC's presentation at comicon, and that they did. It has nothing to do with the quality of GL, which I'm sure is fine, but it was more about creating a buzz.

I'll say it once again so you'll understand. As a comic book fan DC/Warner has constantly dissapointed because when they seem to take a step forward they take three back.

Let's put it this way, if tomorrow both companies said, "do to budgetary reasons we have canned any future projects, and there is no timetable to resume production," I would be shocked and mad as hell at Marvel, and DC I'd simply say, "well that's DC/Warner for ya."

Agreed, I'd never understood the DC multiverse, and it's hard for me to relate to some of the books because of it. However DC's had some great stuff like the Blackest Night stuff that has been some great writing.

I remember back when Kyle Rayner was the new GL, there was alot of infighting between the Hal Jordon fans, and those that were saying "Kyle can use the ring better because he's an artist and more creative."

Marvel has the Ultimate universe, but it's kept separate, and alot of people stay completely away from it.

i think there's some problem with dc fans because they have more legacy characters. so that gives you debate within your favorite character. i mean you have a flash legacy, green lantern legacy, blue beetle, not so much superman, robin legacy, batgirl, even wonder woman has had more than just diana as wonder woman, and now we even have more than one batman.

the only time i really see marvel fanboys fight is whether who should be captain america, and was pissed that ben reilly was spider-man. i'm going to admit that i'm not a huge marvel fan but they don't seem to have as many characters that have had more than one person playing the character.

i think as far as the movie division goes, warner brothers had harry potter the past decade and wasn't really lookinig at their dc properties. with harry potter coming to a conclusion and them seeing how successful marvel has been, they are trying to make their top tier characters back to the movies. marvel has made some dissappointing movies but for the most par they have all made a profit for them, but with marvel making movies as a division, they are trying to make movies for the fans and the general audiences. as comic book fans, we should all just be happy and stop the fighting. who was better at comic con? i say the fans are the ones that win. from what i'm seeing from green lantern, thor, captain america, casting of spider-man, and i think xmen are going to be rushed but will be surprised at how decent it may be, and with dc getting a decent push, this is all good for everyone. :o)

But SUPERMAN IS THE REAL PERSON NOT CLARK KENT!! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE. jk :hehe:

I definitely agree agree with you, and I never really heard about the mutants vs. superheroes debate.

With DC, ask a comic book fan about Hawkman. Better yet, ask them about Hawkman's history :hehe:

EDIT: COIE is the biggest difference. I liked the story when I read it, but it paved the way for the more numerous and useless retcons, sadly. Marvel never had to retcon its whole universe with a COIE-like scope.

See, that's been a problem I've had with DC. I just see one person as Green Lantern, one person as Batman, so on and so forth. I still love DC Comics, they've made some amazing live action/animated movies and graphic novels, but the legacy thing just bugs me a bit.

As a DC geek, I heartily agree with this.

It's great that WB/DC has all these lesser known properties on the big screen but it doesn't have the same effect as watching a movie that is part of a bigger universe.

I'm not a Marvel guy and even I got goosebumps during the Avengers reveal at SDCC and I sincerely hope Marvel manages to pull that movie off.

As much as I mostly loved what Nolan did with the Batman franchise, keeping it in a contained universe is one thing I cannot approve.

Well the containment continues, Martin Campbell confirmed at the Q&A that GL is it's own universe. So it's official, Batman, Superman and now Green Lantern all have their own canvas to work in. And it's for the best.

No, I don't want to see Nolan's Batman have a crossover with Superman, or whoever, it wouldn't work for that.

It's different with the current Marvel film because they planned the films that they would take place in the same universe.

That's not to say that there can't be a JLA film, and DC should make it. They were all set to move forward, and then it got caught up in limbo and shelved. That's the kind of ineptitude at Warner, that I've been talking about. They have too many board room execs making decisions instead of the creative teams.

If they want to do a team movie and build up to it with individual films how about Justice Society? To avoid confusion Jay and Alan could be left out, but any of the rest of the roster could be included. The characters are fairly different from most characters adapted to film and they could be made for much less more than likely. Hawkman, Sandman, Atom, Power Girl, Doctor Fate, Dr. Mid-Nite, Captain Marvel, they could make some unique films with the right crew and ideas.
