In an earlier scene with Magneto on the boat he told Emma that they don't hurt their own kind. Did anyone else catch this?
To prove a point to the other X men not to **** with him and to give the film a sympathetic death.
The film failed there because the audience didn't get to know Darwin well enough to really care that he died. His death was more of a WTF moment than a sad one.
I actually felt worse when the fat CIA dude got killed by Azazel. He seemed to be the only human ready to give the mutants a chance, outside of Moira. I thought he'd be that stereotypical friendly fat guy who makes it all the way to the end. But nope. SPLAT.
i was serious.
black people in the 60s were just granted equal rights. Shaw being Shaw would be prejudice.
I find all this hoopla over Darwin to be a bit silly, to be honest. I think it was pretty clear from the moment his character was announced that he wasn't going to be a main player in the movie, nevermind franchise, and that he would most likely die in the film. I see little value in bringing him back, and don't think it's much of a loss if he's never heard from again.
Shaw hangs around with a Red dude with a tail.i was serious.
