Why is gas still over 2 bucks a gallon?

It's not, around here. A little under 2 bucks. But, amost not enough to count :csad:

It's around $2.19 here in West Michigan.

I am still paying 2.10 in NOVA. My wifes parents in upstate NY is paying about 2.50 for reg.

Record profits?

Well I guess that Republican campaign money paid off.

LOL...you mean large companies are unscrupulous.
say it ain't so.

i pay $6 a gallon... and i dont whine half as mutch as you guys..

It's stil relatively cheap compared to most parts of the world...so I can't really complain too much. Though like most bills I hate to see that gas bill in the mail. :csad:

Mmmmm......war profiteering. Goes great with steak and chicken as a side dish or as a tasty treat all by itself.

jag

The gas companies are making record profits but they all deem it to be derived from extraordianry revenues due to the high prices of oil which are driven by socio-economic factors including the middle eastern conflict.

Your price is not likely to decrease anytime soon.

i hope it goes down but i hope i can start to fly tommorow as well.I doubt either will happen but thats what hope is all about.

Cost for a barrel is down to $54-$57

Last time it was that low gas only cost $1.50-$1.75/gal

Places like Europe, China, and Japan pay way more than we do so quit your whining.

Because:

1. most people aren't willing to find alternative methods of getting to and from places

2. they control the market and most vehicles require gasoline

3. eventually they will run out of gasoline and these guys want to make their money while they still have something to make it with

4. no one believes they make enough money
