Why do producers, executives and directors fill the need to always keep changing a working formula.

For example the live action turtles film part 1 worked, it worked well. so part two comes along and they give michelangelo a stick of salami to fight with. Part 3 comes along and well they cheapen the costumes send them back in time.........why?.....isnt new york big enough to explore.

Now the new tv series works, it works well. fantastic actually so guess what, time to mess it up and send them time travelling again. changing the mood and making it more childish. Why? Toy sales? no other reason.

So now we get to the 3d film. First off, it should have stayed live action. or perphas the made the turtles CGI in a live action world. But that didnt happen so fine I will live with it. But do they keep the voices from the current Turtles cartoon. Voices that have captured the emotion and essense of each character for the last 5 years, no lets bring in some new actors....So that each turtle sounds nothing like the way they should........or we have come to associate with. Now I am not insulting the new film. Havent seen so I still have hi hopes. My point, keep things that work, only change things that need to be changed........

hollywood=Take something good and screw it up

This formula seems to be the foundation on which hollywood is built.

Well then be glad you're not as big of a Transformers fan because they really messed that up. TMNT is nothing compared to that (or X-men 3, horrible horrible movie)

I think the CGI looks great minus just about every human the turtles, splinter, and monsters look great
The voice actors im rather happy with
Why would you want to keep it all live action?
I dont understand this
It worked in what 90?
You know why they did live action then?
Because they didnt have computer capabilities to do a decent CG movie
Nobody now would go watch a live action turtles movie like the old ones
This movie is gonna rock
I think this will work

Don't worry I'm a fan of the transformers too and well the above goes for that too. :trans:

:hyper: I Personally beleive there is something "magical" so to speak of live action. Especially if they pull it off. Now days the animatronics are 100 times better than when they did the first films, :whatever: not to mention you combine CGI and animatronics seemlessly and it works well.

:ninja: I am still hopping that the new film will be good. although they have discreditied it already by stating that Mikey will never be seen using his Nuchucku rather its implied?........(give me a break):cmad:

Still They can't get human cgi right, and so they should have done a live action film with full CGI turtles. that would have been a perfect belend of real world and CGI................:woot:

Please....thats like saying there should never be a live action Hulk.

I loved the live action Turtles. Wish they had did it that way, but this one will still be cool.

Hollywood had nothing to do with this movie.

This was/is an independent feature, and the CGI was an inspired choice.

It would be cool to see how live action Ninja turtles would look in this day and age. And I do agree on how hollywoood screws things up, though I don't think it pertains much to this specific movie. A comic is being made into a movie because people read it and liked it and it's popular of some sort, so why would you change it? I could see that some things may not work on screen, but look at Sin City. It was extreemly accurate to the 3 books it was based off of and people loved it and found it refreshing.

I'm a die hard live action movie fan, but live wont ever happen again...get over it.
Im glad we're getting something!

I'm not losing to much sleep over it. At the end of the day I think we got one really perfect TMNT live action movie with the original.

This one it might not be so good but we'll see.

The animated series, so they tweaked the storyline some. But you know the show has been on quite a long time. Most action/adventure cartoon shows don't last as long as the new Turtle series has. So I think that's something to be thankful for.

X-men 3 is a great movie, better than part 2 with Singer's boring crap. Talk about Hollywood messing up a comic movie, they really screwed up the X-men and Daredevil. At least TMNT has some imagination to it and it looks good.

and i thought people who liked x3 were a figment of my imagination. I kid I kid.

X3 is not a great movie by all means, to me. It was kinda fun, but still...

...I do agree that Daredevil got screwed over. It's funny how Marvel is 'revamping' Hulk and not...Daredevil which got it worse than Ang Lee's movie.

Not really. Daredevil made some money at least. Elektra ruined any chances of a sequel.

the Daredevil Director's Cut was great, the theatrical one is garbage compared to it

Why dont they just make a movie Called DareDevil and Elektra...since they go together like peas and carrots...lol

I loved the first live action TMNT so much....It would be cool to see one these days but CGI will do just fine and after seeing the trailers the TMNTs looks sooo cute...lol

I hope they at least make a directors cut of the new TMNT movie so we can see some nunchucks

woa that loks BADDDDDD lol

I dnt know why they keep changing the formula, this whole fast forward thing is quite annoying. No i havent watched it, dont really plan to, season 4 was great wish they continued with that!!

Hmm...I think I actually came across that picture somewhere on The Technodrome. If I did, I didn't post anything about it.

I'd rather have CGI than nothing, though. Imagine the talkback if this is successful and we get the talked about cgi Ghostbusters 3...

again, though- better than nothing at all.

They were talking about a director's cut since different countries need to cut different things for the younger rating. I think the animation does look cool for the flick- anxious to see how the fights turn out

A majority of people like X3 the least of the films, and 2 the best- personally, I like the character development/exposition stuff the best, so I prefer X1 (same with lord of the rings... prefer the first one the most). I am impressed with what we've seen so far with TMNT- especially after my initial impressions with hearing its cg. I agree with Daredevil, although the director's cut is pretty sweet... Elektra's total crap though, on par with Ghost Rider. I'm a little apprehensive about the new Hulk- 1 had a distinct feel that [hopefully] they try to maintain, just with adding more action.

I need to frequent these boards more often... I reply to tons of things all at once and end up having a conversation with myself...
