Bruce Wayne: "They told me there was nothing out there, nothing to fear. But the night my parents were murdered I caught a glimpse of something. I've looked for it ever since. I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me."

I love this quote, too bad it wasn't in the movie.

It was done specifically for the trailer. Some narration from Bruce would have been quite useful though, worked well in Memento

I remember when I saw BB for the first time in the theater I was awaiting that quote, now it doesn't bother me.

I think it's because all of that is showed in detail throughout 60+ minutes of film, making the quote totally repetitive and dramatically useless. And considering Goyer was all about repetitiveness for the sake of repeating, then I'm glad we had not one single extra "fear" word in the movie.

For the trailer it worked though.
