S.T.A.R. Labs (Scientific and Technological Advanced Research), is a fictional research facility, and comic book organization appearing in titles published by DC Comics. It first appeared in Superman #246 (December 1971) and was created by Cary Bates and Rich Buckler.

In Man of Steel, S.T.A.R. Labs has several cameo appearances through the film.

But what about BvS? Will Star Labs be the ones doing the worlds first(presumably) alien autopsy? Will they reverse-engineer kryptonian tech?

Also check out their locations list from the Star Labs wikipedia, pay attention to what their Metropolis branch does:

Locations:

A partial list of some known locations of S.T.A.R. Labs facilities and their research focuses, where either is known, includes:

Austin, Texas
Central City, Missouri
Chicago, Illinois: specializing in research and technology
Detroit, Michigan: specialized in physics research. Closed down in 2004.
Fawcett City: specializing in extraterrestrial research [3]
Gotham City: specializing in weaponry
Keystone City, Kansas
Los Angeles, California: specializing in genetics and disease control
Melbourne, Australia
Metropolis (Queensland Park Borough, near Metropolis Harbor): specializing in marine biology.
Metropolis (central branch, New Troy Island): catch-all facility.
Missoula County, Montana
New York City, New York: specializing in research and technology. Destroyed in explosion.
Palo Alto, medical facility
Phoenix, Arizona: specializing in meteorology and natural disasters
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, radioactive storage and testing centers
Salt Lake City, Utah: specializing in physics
San Diego, California: specializing in chemical research
San Francisco, California: specializing in studying meta-humans
Seattle, Washington: specializing in studying psychology and psionics.
Toronto, Canada
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Wichita, Kansas, specializing in robotics
Kyoto, Japan

Also, i have previously in another thread speculated that Holly Hunter could be playing a scientist working for Star Labs. I would like to add Lana Lang to that speculation. (Just from me and Rodrigo90's discussion in the Lana Lang thread)

Edit: I of course didnt mean that Holly Hunter would play Lana Lang. I meant that she could be playing a scientist and if Lana Lang makes an appearance in BvS, maybe she also is a scientist.

STAR Labs metropolis branch doing marine biology. Hmm something smells fishy. :shr:

But more importantly. Given it's Metropolis branch has fields in Marine Biology, will Arthur be connected? :hmm

Could they be testing the water and sea creatures affected by the World Engine? Could Starro be the main villain a Godzilla like fashion? :D

And of course they have a Gotham branch too. Weaponry.

'Tis a fine way of introducing Aquaman in the movie. :D

Maybe the Wichita, Kansas branch is connected to Cyborg....

Are those locations from the comics? If so, i'm sure they're mostly random.

I think it would make the most sense to make Star Labs in Metropolis an HQ that specialises in a lot of fields, not just marine biology. It doesn't make much sense considering that most, if not all, marine biology labs are situated on coasts next to the ocean.

If you take a closer look at the list there is a second "Catch All" S.T.A.R. LABS facility in Metropolis.

Cool there's a STAR labs in Melbourne.

Now if I can just find it.

He might still return. Could have the powers to warp between Earth and The Phantom Zone.

But I think it can still operate without him. It's a huge company with many branches.

Good question! And one i dont have an answer to...I dont know that much about the comics. And of course anyone can edit an article on wikipedia. Does anyone with more comics knowledge know if the locations list is accurate? I know it doesnt mean that any of them will end up in the movie, but its fun to speculate.

Given that STAR Labs is a major part of the Flash TV show, I wouldn't be so sure it will appear. Depends on how stringent their opposition to crossover between the show and movies are.

It's not about a cross over STAR Labs was shown in MOS and as you've seen they have many facilities. One can exist in both Metropolis and Coast City.

After Hamilton's disappearance into the Phantom Zone, it would be possible for things to go bad and have Lex increase his power by taking over.
