In the cartoons, Many of the Transformers have human like faces that can display many kinds of emotions and expressions while most don't, Do you think the movie versions will have the same faces for the characters? We all know how Optimus Prime and Megatron's faces look, Prime's face is the kind that doesnt show any kind of emotions since you dont see any lip movement, Just the head nodding and such, While Megatron, You can see his lips moving and showing a lot more expression.

i dont want ugly looking cgi faces....(TOMB RAIDER GIANT BUDDA FACE)

slightly human faces will do....with SLIGHT lip movements(if lips)

The faces should at least resemble the ones from the cartoons.

define "resemble"
Each character have distinctive looks on there faces that define who they are, Some of them look more human then others. Megatron for example, His face is more rounded and apears solid while Prime's face is more square shaped like with some edges?

As long as the voice actors do a good job in delivering lots of emotion in their lines, I can live without a lot of facial movement. But I hope the faces are all recognizable.

Exactly, Look at your Avatar Nathan, It is a good example of a Transformer with a human like face. That kind of face can express human like emotions.

now look at darth vader

Look at these two for example

Megatron has lips, So when he speaks you see lip movement

Optimus Prime doesn't apear to have any mouth due to some plate covering it.

I never want to have a face like Starscream's turned into something unrecognizable like this.

So the movie must have the original faces, Its how we recognize the characters.

Since Starscream will be in the movie, Hopefully they will still use the same face.

ok how bout this...........

the face plates are like battle armor...

ok i dont see a real big difference in those faces.......

its the same blocks repeated but with different colors

How about if they made the faces similar to the TX-1 in Terminator 3? That would be a lot more realistic and allow lip movement without looking like the cheap Buddha face in Tomb Raider.

Nathan........you have just sold me.

all you had to say was "T" and im with you.

i 100000000000% agree.

though we never heard the tx speak in her metallic form.....just scream

also that tx design looks similar to the teaser poster.......

so.........maybe!

And you could really see that the TX-1 was in panic (if memory serves right, been a while since I watched it). If they'd build the faces similar to the TX-1, IMO expressing different emotions wouldn't be a problem anymore.

Ironically the Decepticons like screaming too. :o

That could definately work, IMO.

^I half expect Starscream to bleed and start eating other Decpeticons with that design. Points for anyone that gets the reference I'm making.

Another option is something designed like the Dr. Doom Mask form the FF movie.

Depending on hoe eye effects, lighting, body language, and music are done. You can convey a lot of emotion and purpose without actual facial movement.

Obviously you would look for a refined and applicable design but it could work well if done right.

the mask never moved though.......the tx one did
