Winter Strikes - Blizzard Warning Up North

Can you believe a blizzard warning is in effect up north.... and look at the temperature of this place, in the minus range. I hope it stays up there.

Well, to be fair it is Nunavut. It gets really ****ing cold up there. But yeah a blizzard is unusal weather for this time of year. It's been odd in NB as well, Going from 30 one day to 11 the next and its been happening for a couple weeks now.

Oh yeah, it can be real cold up there. And even though we've had lot's of cool air this spring in Ottawa and I'm sure you've had a lot of cold air this spring also in NB, before we complain, we need to remember places like Nunavut (or Baker Lake where this blizzard is unfolding). Just that it's june now and after having our first above 30 day a couple of days ago, a blizzard is the last thing you would expect to find in this country.

So, while it's not exactly a common occurrence, it has happened before. Now, if there was the chance of a rain of frogs... then that would be "unprecedented" for that area.

But look at the years you're showing me, the 70's, over 30 years ago, so this is definitely something out of the ordinary.

That said, yes, it has apparently snowed every month (even in Ottawa, except for july, if I'm not mistaken). But an actual "blizzard" with 6+ inches of snow and minus temperatures is very, very rare, even in the north of Canada in june. Especially when you compare it to the 98-102 temperatures in some places like Indiana and even southern ontario that is in the mid 30's (low-mid 90's).

Wow. It's blazing hot down here on the Gulf Coast. I hate summer worse than any other season, but I'm sure I'd think differently if I lived somewhere with blizzard threats in June. (I've seen snow three times in my 26 years.)
