I have wireless internet network set up and I've got a computer up one floor from the other one that doesn't work for some reason

the one that is a floor higher has worked in the past but is now switching on and off, but mostly off

the connection is only at 19% while the computer on the main floor is at 100%

What can I do to correct this problem?

is it the location of the computer?

I had a hard time understanding where you stuff is..

Where is your wireless Router?

Where is Computer 1? (the one that works)

Where is Computer 2? (the one that doesnt work)

How many walls NOT make of sheetrock exist between the one that does not work and the router?

my router is under a flight of stairs

computer 1 has only one wall (and door) between it and the router

computer 2 is one floor above the router and the stairs and a wall are between it and the router

I'd say two

my internet connection problem has changed now, it will connect to the internet and then suddenly lose the connection after a few minutes

How far between the upstairs comp and the router? if you could straightline it thru walls?

One other thought, what type of wireless are you using? 802.11 g? f?
This really makes a huge difference...what router is it? You have the model number? This can answer many questions for me.

Netgear Wireless G card

not really sure about the other questions

What is your router model number, the one connected to your Internet connection

I've got my computer at my dad's house and I have to connect it through Microsoft

for some reason, I'll be on for about 10-30 minutes and then BAM, my internet connection will be gone

anyone know how to solve that?

Take your modem (with the plug) down to your ISPs local service station and ask for a replacement & see if it gets better...atleast that's what I do

the problem is that this is the only computer that it messes up on

it seems to not like it when I play TFC or something
