Nudity does need to be a requirement for a role like Witchblade IMO.

Hathaway's certainly got the acting cred for a good Pezezzi and is willing to go naked on screen.

Alba should stay away from this. She doesn't have the necessary acting skills, will definitely not do any nudity under any circumstances and how much of a draw is she? When was her major hit that she was the star of and did bought more cred then her co-stars? They may as well get a random unknown hot actress if all they want is a hot lead, it'll be less expensive and if she is hot enough she'll bring in Alba's teenage boy fans anyway.

Exactly how I feel when it comes to Hathaway, and Batboy I think she is sexy in her own right, and more importantly she can act and isn't afraid of nudity which are must with this role.

If I may ask, who do you think is better, an unknown or a big name playing Sara? I personally think that a Christian Bale or Tobey McGuire type situation wont work in this situation because people don't prodominately know the character like two of the biggest superheroes in history, Batman and Spider-man.

And shes ''sexy'' in her own way, sure, but she isnt what i would take for Sara Pezzini sexy. And its good that she does nudity, but thats not really a valid reason why she would be a good choice, theres alot of actresses that will do nudity also, does that make them a good choice? No

Personally, I want Rhona Mitra. Does she do nudity? I dont know. Do I think shes as good an actress of Anne? No i dont. Does that automatically make anne a better choice(IMO) no it doesnt, acting is the most important thing when it comes to casting, but looks can be important as well, especially in a role like this. Do I think she can handle a movie like this? Honestly, yes i do, shes not the best actress, but i feel she can handle the role, and shes pretty good and comfortable with strong female lead roles.

Hathaway's not my first choice for Sara but I think she'd make a great lead. She may be to expensive, though.

Nudity shouldn't a higher priority over acting however they shouldn't ignore it if their chosen actress doesn't want to do it. Either the actress is in all the way or not. If they aren't they're replaceable with others who can act and do nudity. I'm sure there are plenty of capable actresses who will do both they just need to find them.

Mitra does do nudity. She did in Hollow Man. I'm just not sure if she does it these days. She's come along way since being a Tomb Raider model. Sara should be a role she could execute perfectly on screen.

hmm i wouldn't mind rhona mitra for the role at all. she has the look, and seeing from the previews of doomsday, the woman kicks ass, and looks hot doing it. and she is a decent actress at that.

but it would be cool if they got an unknown who not only resembled the part but could act as well. oh to dream...

No I understood I was just trying to say I think tha Anne Hathaway is sexy IMO AND that she was talented.

BUT

I agree with you that Rhona Mitra would be a better choice but I think that she is great but does she have the greatest star apeal that someone like Jolie or Garner or even Hathaway for that matter? I don't know but she is someone that can see in the role and is like number two on my list of Sara's including:
1. Jennifer Garner (She will not do it though lol)
2. Rhona Mitra (see above)
3. Jolene Blalock (not a big enough name)
4. Charisma Carpenter (to old agian)

No leading A-list leading actress will want this role. Especially after Catwoman.

It will be a lower tier, maybe somewhat prolific type actress.

Like Kristanna Lokken or Natasha Malthe .

The actress doesn't need to be Oscar worthy she should be good enough to be a good version of the character on film. That means using an actress who actually has decent acting skills since she'll be playing a character who is a detective.

Sex and the City came in at number one at the box office! Why do I care, and furthermore why is this good news for Witchblade. Even though they are very different demos it gives production companies hope that Female driven movies can work and also R rated female driven movies can work if they give it enough backing and make it not thought of as a B movie. Here's hoping they will.

Actually if my sources are correct it will be about 40 mill that would probably also cover the maketing leaving about 35-37 million on the actual budget. That I don't think will be the prob the prob is if they are going to get A-List talent like Jennifer Garner to play Sarah (although she might be a bit to old and probably doesn't want to do another comic film) or someone who at least has star potential like Jolene Blalock (I can see the media calling her "the next Angilina Jolie") and Josh Halloway or James Marsden to play Jake and not some random Auzzis. The only way that I think this film will really fail is if it has bad direction, since they haven't got a director yet it's iffy but if they get a good one a la someone like Joss Whedon, (won't happen, I know,) someone like that, it will probably be better farring.

I wanted to clear something up actually that was bad math on my part the actual budget will resemble around 75-80 million dollars.

If you are using photoshop then I would actually start with an actual photo of a peice of metal then I would go to liquify and try making it a bit more jagged. Then I would get different pics of spikes and try to model them by using a layer mask apply the metal effect.
