The Amazing Spider-Man 2 With Great Sequel Comes Great Lounging - Part 1

This Marvel VS DC thing is absolute ********. I think Kevin Feige said it best when he said that comic book movies are a whole. We look at them as the Marvel movies and the DC movies. The public looks at them as one giant genre. When Marvel releases a ****** movie, DC fanboys get excited that it sucks and that it's a win for DC and vice versa for Marvel fanboys when it comes to ****** DC movies. In reality, when a ****** Marvel or DC movie comes out, it's not a strike against that respected company it's a strike to the entire genre.

I haven't seen MoS, and neither has most of the people here. Am I disappointed with it's RT so far, hell yes. But I'll reserve my feelings until I actually see it. I will say that some of the criticisms are pretty dumb. Just as long as the critics I trust like a movie and I like it, then great. I don't give a crap about what another 200 critics have to say.

The amount of freaking out Marvel and DC fanboys do is simply astounding. When TASM was just coming out and no one had seen it, but it was dropping on RT, Jesus it seemed like the world was going to end.

I look forward to seeing MoS this weekend. 3 out of 6 of my trusted critics liked it, and 2 of them haven't reviewed it yet.

^ I'm stoked dude. Seeing it midnight tomorrow!! Wooooee

Anybody read Superman Unchained today? I loved it. Taking in the story is much easier when the art is top notch.

That rating means nothing. You will decide if it's mediocre or not. And the rest of the viewers. Avengers is at 94% and in my opinion it deserves to be at less than 50%, but the audiences ate it up, so THAT's the consensus that matters to me and to the viewers respectively.

agreed

To many people Star Trek: Into Darkness was something like 8/10 but to me & my friend it was an absolute 10/10, so...

The critics rating matter for the sequel

At this rate I doubt Snyder-Goyer will return for the sequel,if there is a sequel that is

They most certainly do not. Transformers got a sequel after mediocre reviews AND a threequel after the 2nd movie, which sits at 20%. Money decides a sequel. Money and audience appeal. That's why Batman Begins got a sequel and Superman Returns didn't.

Well, the sequel has already been confirmed with Snyder directing it. Don't know abour Goyer.

I'm sure the movie isn't as bad as the RT score, a lot of critics just like to bash Zack Snyder :D

To be fair, that doesn't mean anything. GL2 had been greenlit before GL was out.

WB is optimistic, byt they're gonna wait till they see the dough.

Man of Steel will most likely make a lot of money for these reasons:
- it's a Superman movie, people want to see it regardless of critics
- based on the trailers it looks like the Superman movie people have been waiting for
- it has top-notch special fx

and to add a little to that: some reviews genuinely do think that it's the best Superman movie, or at least the one they've been craving for

Yeah a sequel was confirmed for GL and SR and SM3,hardly means a thing

Critics rating is a factor, not the only factor but definitely a factor
It was one of the reason why talks for SM4 didnt go through despite SM3 making decent amount

Batman Begins didnt make much money at the box office but still got a sequel. Why? Because it got decent reviews

Transformers wasnt received well but it made truckloads

Now MOS already has one factor out of the equation.Lets hope it makes good money and the sequel comes into production for real. Will they get back Snyder? I doubt so

This reason has been put through by many people and seriously I dont get it
Maybe in the US but International territories Supes isnt that famous,He is below likes of Spider-man,Iron Man and Batman.
And the below par marketing didnt help

Yeah the movie seems to have tons of action scenes and CGI,maybe that will work in its favour

I don't understand why CGI is such a big complaint with this movie. The people complainging about it are not saying it's bad CGI, they are complainging about the mere use of it. I realize that some things can be done with practical fx rather than CGI, but in some instances CGI just has to be used to make it look decent. The people that complain about CGI to no end no matter how it's used seem kind of dumb to me tbh

especially the Pretty Much It guys (except Eric). Their views seem to be that there isn't good use and bad use of CGI, CGI is a bad concept in any cases and shouldn't be used

You do realize that MoS is getting BB-level of reviews, too, right? Even the same RT rating.

So we're talking about decent reviews (like BB) AND a strong possibility of a s**tload of money.

Hypocrisy is the word you're looking for.

BB Levels? Lolwut

BB has 85% on RT,MoS at present is on 60% and it can very well go into the 50s

I'm talking about when BB was first released. Pretty similar reactions.

I really really don't think that I'll dislike Man Of Steel. I just don't fit into the whiner-type that most movie goers seem to be nowadays. If I don't like something, I'll be honest about it. But I'm not constantly trying to find something to dislike

First reactions to BB and TASM were really surprisingly similar. Though the popularity for BB grew significantly after the release of TDK. I wonder if the same will happen for TASM if TASM 2 will be a surprise hit

I think TASM is growing on people, but not even at the same rate as BB did. Plus, it had/has a couple things going against it.

Mmm it actually went up for the critics i think is 80% now
TASM and MoS seem similar in the reactions and reviews now im wonderi f if the next reboots will be the same.....
