It seems like Marc Webb has a lot of inspiration from Star Wars as well. I love it!

Jupiter Ascending's trailer has been confirmed for Monday, Godzilla for Tuesday, Edge of Tomorrow for Wednesday. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Interstellar trailers coming too.

Thats a ridiculous amount of awesome trailers tho damn

Yeah, I'm especially looking forward to Edge of Tomorrow and Godzilla's trailers.

To be honest, most action blockbusters are influenced off Star Wars and Indiana Jones' formula. I read it somewhere that they share the same structure.

Its a formula that works though. I don't think this movie is really following that structure anyway.

Nope, that can't be influenced by Star Wars
Marvel had their evil "Secret Empire" since the 60s, doubt 70 movies are needed to inspire that, despite their success

Just because Star Wars did not invent the concept of an evil empire does not mean it can't be influenced from those films specifically. So your argument is invalid. Star Wars is a franchise that is highly influential on modern filmmakers, and Marc Webb has even compared Oscorp as an evil empire similar to the one in Star Wars.

Watched Star Trek Into Darkness. Pretty solid film. I found Khan to be a great and ruthless foe. The first 30-40 minutes moved kinda slow. I'd give it a 9/10.

I thought STID was fantastic. Glad it was written by the same writers for TASM2.

I think Nicko meant the same writers and the same cinematographer between STID and ASM2.

^ Thanks man haha. Yeah my bad. Should've clarified that.

Oh that's alright. That sounds really cool then, because STID was great visually as well!

STID was awesome. My favorite movie of this year.

My second I think, Man of Steel is my favorite. I think 12 Years A Slave would be my favorite, but I haven't seen it. Gravity looks pretty damn good too.

My favorite movies this year

1. Man of Steel
2. Thor: The Dark World
3. The Day of the Doctor
4. Star Trek Into Darkness
5. We're The Millers
5. The Wolverine
6. Iron Man 3
7. This is the End

I'm actually re-watching The Wolverine right now, so I'll have that updated soon.
