At first I thought the casting of Jamie Foxx was really weird. No one was expecting it all. Guaranteed, no one had Jamie Foxx on their list to play Max Dillon/Electro.
I haven't watched anything of him at that point, none of his movies.
Then we were able to see a bunch of set photos, and I thought to myself, "huh...THIS is what they're going for with Electro. THIS is the route they're taking. And it looks like it WORKS." Soon enough I saw Django, and thought, "I'm sold".
Sure, we've all read the comics, and Electro was always Caucasian. So it's gonna throw us off a tiny bit to hear that Jamie's playing him. But it turns out, the truth is, that really doesn't matter. At all. Look at the route the went with him. It looks awesome. Sure it may deviate from the source material a bit, but imo, it's just exaggerated from the source material. He's this socially weird hardcore nerd but I think they did that to emphasize the inferiority complex that he gains later which Electro ALWAYS has in the comics. And c'mon, his transformation? He looks fantastic! That's my two cents on Jamie. Sorry, I had to do it after reading Picard's last post.
