Without a shared universe connection, would Suicide Squad be as anticipated?

Would you/pop culture fans at large still be as interested?

  • People would be just as hyped for it.

  • The movie would probably lose a good bit of hype

i barely know who the Squad is besides Harley Quinn nor do I wanna know. They were smart to put the two evil clowns in this movie.

I would have preferred Harley NOT be in Suicide Squad as I feel they are just using her fanbase for sales but it's not my call.

I voted no, tbh I don't think this film world without sone sort of shared universe. Even if it's just a Batman shared universe, it needs that to work.

She's been part of the Squad since they resurrected it five years ago. It makes sense to put her in.

With being part of the MCU, Guardians of the Galaxy wouldn't have got attention. Nor would Ant-Man.

So yea, without DCEU, Suicide Squad would be a drop in the bucket of "who cares?" Even with the Joker, I imagine.

it would probably be as anitip as the previous dc movies that stood alone but with the joker element. Added to that Will Smith and a Batman played by a big star and it's easy(for me) to see it being anticipated by alot of people.
What it's operating on in it's present situation is more what the mcu has had it's films enjoy since the beginning. As to whether such thing would be less antip without such things I think relies on how people generally feel about the universe, also who is signed on to direct.
