Woman with one arm too scary for TV...

I want to know what was said here: 'This new presenter is c*** - face facts

I betcha those same executive *******s took their kids to Friday The 13th this past weekend.

I hate people. People that closed minded shouldn't be allowed to breed.

I guess a woman with a disability is more frightening than a huge purple dinosaur that hangs out at the school all day talking to children and could have eaten their teacher.

One of my classmates in high school was missing her lower left arm, having a small vestigial hand of sorts, where her elbow was. She often wore t-shirts and did nothing to hide it. She functioned pretty much normally - she could actually hold things in her left elbow. She was even on the cheer team.

Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if these stupid parents would have protested her presence in the high school, or the fact that she did nothing to hide her physical deformity, God forbid. :whatever:

She was on the new this morning.....still going on. Why?

Soo when their kids encounter someone with missing limbs in the real world they are going to be scared? You have to face your fears sometime

It makes me wonder, and I'm probably gonna be looked down upon for this, but what do they do about different races?

"Mummy! That man has dark skin. Is he wearing mud?"
"Shh! No, honey, and we don't talk about that!"

I see no problem with a woman with one arm on tv. Don't see how kids can be scared of that, unless she is wearing sleeveless top.

It's not the kids that are scare, it's the moronic parents

Sarcasm aside, have you actually seen her? She's quite tasty. This has all blown up out of proportion (probably because we need something new to talk about in this country) but I think the complaints are really in the minority. When kids see someone with a disability and they get scared, then that's a reflection on their upbringing and I think just illustrates bad parenting - especially considering the way it was handled by the parents. Lets see....if a kid sees someone in a wheelchair then they're more likely to ask them if they can do wheelies. They just see the world with a certain innocence.
My five year old niece was staying over the night and she got sent round here with Barbie and The Island Princess or something crap. Naturally I did the only fair thing as an uncle and put The Dark Crystal on for her - she loved it! Now I know this girl who won't let her daughter watch it until she's at least 12 because its too scary....mental. She's gonna end up like one of those kids I imagine.

They just talked about this issue on the local news...and the woman has the same physical deformity as my high school classmate. It's seriously not a big deal.

I mean, having to explain to kids that she was born with it is certainly less traumatizing than having to explain she had her arm blown off by a land mine.

What's the medical term for this condition? I saw someone on the subway with it before, it's been driving me nuts trying to figure out what the medical term is. The "a small vestigial hand of sorts" tidbit.
