I remember when I was a kid, I would watch Live and Kicking. The presenters were cool people and they were funny, they had Zig and Zag, cool compititions, and overall the show had a great sense of fun. Aswell, they showed Rugrats, Spider-Man, and other cool cartoons. Saturday mornings used to be something both kids and adults could watch.

Over the years, saturday mornings really started to go down the toilet. The presenters got younger and younger and each new presenter had less personality than the last one. Just young and trendy, with no personality. They showed less and less cartoons, and instead concentrated on getting the same popstars in their shows week after week to co-present and ****. It got to the point where there was this show on ITV called the Ministry Of Mayhem, that was pretty much just a platform for popstars. I think ITV still have this show. The female presenter of this is incredibly hot. The weird thing is, the show is incredibly sexualized. This presenter, she would strut around in tiny maid outfits, have food fights with people, flirt with everyone, I mean... it's incredibly sexualized kids TV.

But this morning after my jog. I'm watching BBC 2, and they have this show. I don't know what it's called, but it KICKS ASS!!!

They've got the fun back! They've got the fun back into saturdays. The presenters are actually over 19 years old. They've done away with the whole "male and female presenter duo" thing that I think holds back alot of saturday morning shows. This show has good cartoons. Pinky And The Brain, and I think one of the presenters mentioned Batman. Kickass. They have good fun quizes, they concentrate on being silly and funny and it doesn't seem forced like in other shows. These guys are having a great time doing this, having a great laugh, and it shows. They're interacting with the kids. It's hard to describe, but it reminds me of when saturday mornings were good. I mean, I'm actually laughing at the jokes these guys are doing. I haven't done that on a saturday morning in ages.

bite you tounge, saturdays have been great thanks to two people cat deeley and holly willoughby

Yeah but like... it's supposed to be kids tv.

She'd be better suited for like, a late night music show or something.

please man it was never kids tv, it was always students, why do you think they usually have a hot girl

Never kids tv...

I suppose that's why good saturday morning shows always have loads of letters from kids, photos from kids, audiences with kids, kids phoning up to enter compititions, kids getting surprise visits at their homes from the show, etc.

Yeah... that's not kids tv at all *sarcasm*

Saturdays mornings used to rock more when I was a kid. I mean I used to watch Thundercats and Transformers on a Canadian channel Saturday mornings. I used to love watching stuff like Superfriends, Spider-man and his Amazing friends, The Adventures of Plastic Man, The Smurfs, etc. etc. on the big networks too. There was also WWF wrestling on a few cable channels too. Then I'd watch NWA wrestling in the late afternoon. I think kids are growing up way too fast nowadays.

fair enough you make some good points, but as you also said it wasnt just pure kids, there was loads of things that would have went over the kids heads. jokes, comments, outfitts thats was emant for the older crowd.

hell remember whats up doc had two wolves that ate the kids

Sorry, nothing will ever beat the Saturday mornings of the 80s. That was the ultimate.

Transformers, Voltron and Robotech were all weekday shows in the morning or in the afternoon

Saturday Mornings were the Smurfs, Mr. T, Shirt Tales and other stuff I'm forgetting.

I'm going to smurf your smurf with the biggest smurf I can find.

I'll break my smurf off in your smurf, then put your smurf on a curb and smurf the back of your smurfing smurf.
