So what has been the worst costume for you guys so far?

Decided to add two categories....the MCU and the other Marvel movies

MCU

Other Marvel Movies

So, which do you guys think is the worst?

Well Deathlok's Laser Tag outfit has not been very good at all.

And Mockingbird's has been a bit of a let down.

Whiplash basically wore part of a prison uniform in the first part of IM2.

If you're going a bit wider, then Abomination didn't have a good look either.

In non MCU movies, Quicksilver in XM: DOFP had a terrible costume.

Electro's and Green Goblin's in ASM2 weren't good either.

I don't count the Abomination because well duh he didn't wear a costume. He doesn't wear any clothes period.

If we're talking actual MCU heroes I'll never be over just how ****** Captain America's Avengers outfit looked. No wonder it wasn't retained for the later movies.

Cap's Avengers outfit. Their one misstep in the artwork departement

Never really had a problem with Cap's Avengers suit or the Abomination's design. I can't really pinpoint any costumes in the MCU I've had a problem with but if we're talking Marvel movies on a whole then the Green Goblin takes the cake.

MCU

The Avengers - Cap's costume. The suit was fine but the helmet was terrible. Thankfully Evans is so good in the role he could've been wearing Underoos and he would have sold me on it.

Agents of SHIELD - Deathlok was shoddy. Agree on the Lazer Tag vest comment. It's lower budget though so I actually cut them a little slack because of that. I don't like the Flash suit either but this is a Marvel thread.

Other Marvel Movies

Spider-Man - Green Goblin power ranger outfit. The mask was truly laughable. When you see the original concept it just underscores what a blown opportunity that was.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Beavis & Butthead Green Goblin. 'Nuff said.

X-Men: DOFP - Quicksilver the Spy Kid still looks utterly ******ed.

Actually I hate all of the Fox-Men costumes. Every last one of them.

I liked Abomination's look though. We should also have a thread for best costumes I think.

Thankfully... it wasn't used for more than 1 scene.

the worst MCU suit is clearly Deathlok

Hawkeye's suit would be better if it was more along the lines of the comics

I assume you mean the 616 comics, because his costume is taken almost verbatim from the Ultimate comics.

oh yeah true it's pretty similar. Ultimates 1 and 2 are some of the few Marvel comics I've actually read.

I prefer the 616 suit, it's iconic. They could've worked with the 616 suit design to create something for the movies.

Quicksilver did have a bad costume but Evan Peters was so surprisingly good in the role that it doesn't bother me as much as it did initially.

Deathlok and cap's helmet from Avengers.

GG from SM1 and ASM2.
Rhino.

Quicksilver from DOFP.
The X-uniforms.

Peters was definitely likable in the role but my beef is that he was nothing like the real Quicksilver. He could have just as well been some made up mutant speedster like in X-Men: The Last Stand. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Joss does with the character.

Cap's Avengers outfit was a bit iffy. It looks even worse in comparison with his TWS stealth suit and the new Age of Ultron suit.

Raimi's Green Goblin looked pretty lame. Why hide Dafoe's creepy Goblin-esque face with a Power Ranger mask? They should have had him wear LOTR Orc style prosthetics to highlight his already creepy features.

Have to agree on Cap's suit in Avengers. Made him look like a cartoon rather than the badass soldier he ought to be.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Michael Fassbender's horrendous Magneto getup at the end of First Class.

Oh, and btw, I've never really had a problem with Green Goblin's costume in the Raimi films. I actually thought it was okay, and am glad they didn't go with the Santa elf getup from the comics.

I didn't mind the actual suit Gobby had. But it was a huge misstep to hide Dafoe's face under that ridiculously camp mask.

I don't think so. You run into the trouble of having to explain why a spy who works for an elite black-ops agency is running around in purple spandex and a silly mask..

Agreed. To be honest though, I really have no problem with his classic outfit.

But for the movies, I'm definitely glad they went with his Ultimate look.

Totally agree with this. It was a waste of Willem Dafoe in my opinion. That dude is creepy enough.

What if Hawkeye grew up in the circus before joining the Avengers Initiative and that was his getup? It's probably too campy for the new breed of CBM film auteurs who turn their nose up at any actual "comic-y" elements but I wouldn't mind it.

See I don't mind this pic at all. I actually liked that the Avengers outfit made him look more like a superhero than a soldier. The problem wasn't the concept - it was the execution. You can't have it look perfect at every angle. They just couldn't get that helmet right. I think the intent was to go with the classic ears out look but they weren't happy with how it all came together in the actual film so they introduced his ear protectors. In Winter Soldier they nailed it but I think it worked because they realized he needs the chin strap to balance things out.

Yeah totally. All of First Class's aesthetics sucked period IMO which is why I made that blanket statement. It's a testament to the quality of the film though that I still like the movie despite it all. Vaughn delivered the goods on that one. WAY better than the vastly overrated DOFP IMO.

It's not just the helmet, the whole outfit made him look thin and lanky. Plus the light blue palette they chose gave him a bright and colorful look, which had the unfortunate benefit of making him look a cartoon. At least his stealth suit in The Winter Soldier had him decked out in a darker shade of blue with some extra to make him look like a guy you wouldn't want to mess with. And yes, the redesigned helmet with the chin strap was a huge improvement.

I actually liked the flight suits they wore in the movie much more than their dark suits in the first three films.
