Worst/most out of place jokes in the MCU

I always hate the line in the Winter Soldier where Natasha opens up about how she was shot and almost died and Steve replies with a dumb comment about what she must look like in a bikini. Worst part of an almost faultless film

Natasha started it, actually.

Natasha: *shows the scar* Bye bye, bikinis.
Steve: Yeah, I bet you look terrible in them now.

There are a lot. MOst have been mentioned. HOnestly to me other than Winter Soldier and the first Iron Man, every single Marvel movie has had a problem with the tone/joke placement.

In Civil War, I thought there was a bunch in the airport fight that were misplaced.

But its funny to me when people are saying AoU has a problem with the amount of jokes, when to me it seems like it had the same ratio or amounts of jokes to serious moments as the first Avengers

I think it comes down to the gag. Hulk doling out gamma infused justice on the Asgardians in The Avengers could have been seen as misplaced given the gravity of the circumstance. But they were both frikkin' hilarious. The humorous moments in Whedon's first film were far more memorable than those in the follow up.

A lot of folks brought up "orange slices" from CA:CW, but it fell flat not due of timing but because every other Lang line was pure gold. His "tap-out" line was weak in comparison. I brought up the exchange between Thor and Vision in battle with Ultron, but my problem was with the gag rather than the placement. A gag that seems misplaced probably should have been replaced.

In TWD after Loki "dies" and that god-forsaken cell phone starts ringing.

I hated that part. It annoys me to even think about it.

I also hated when Thor and Malekith were sliding down The Shard in London. It was supposed to be a bitter battle between two powerful beings and instead we got weird slapstick humor.

Why do so many of you hate fun? Must be DCU producers. No Jokes :cmad:

Misplaced 3rd act slapstick humor commonly kills the vibe/stakes. There's an over-reliance on it in this universe and I wish they would dial it back just a little bit.

Their interaction was kind of awkward and sloppy imo.

A lot of scenes in Iron Man 3 and TDW. I don't mind the jokes in Age of Ultron. The comment in Ant-Man when Scott interrupts Hank and Janet is pretty bad. I'm still not entirely fond of the ending of GoTG with the dance off. I was fine with the jokes in the airport. Obviously the "Civil War" mattered to some, but not all of them.

Really a couple of scenes in TDW,the phone call and the misplaced humour during the final battle.

I don't mind the "bikini" line in TWS

One that is just kinda awkward to me is the scene in the old SHIELD bunker
"Wanna play a game? (beat) That's a reference to-
"I've seen the movie"

It's kinda chuckle worthy. But it doesn't really make sense to include that joke then. I understand the joke, but it's in a kinda tense, dramatic moment right before the big reveal

Many of my specific worst moments have been mentioned. But for me, humour was a particular problem in IM3, TDW and AOU. It ruined a lot of scenes in those movies.

I get that some of Thor 2's scenes were a bit jarring but I really had no problems with movies like im3 or GotG or AoU.

i'll just say ultron.
