Would twilight be just as succesful if a bunch of models were the leads?

Would the Twilight movies do just as well with models as the main cast.

Um, maybe I'm missing something here, but aren't the cast basically glorified models anyway?

This franchise could have been cast with anyone and it would have been hugely popular. The girls don't go for the story or the acting (lack thereof), they go because of the image they have of this sensationalist vamp emo garbage. They all want emo vamp boyfriends now that sparkle in the sun. Sad.

I'd like the explanation of how Taylor Lautner goes from the weedy Native American kid in Twilight to the uber buff tool in New Moon. A lot of the cast have that davoid of personality, blank stare, not much upstairs thing going on. I don't get the fascination with Kristin Stewart either, she can't act and she is not attractive unless you are into young dudes. Weird. The best acting comes from a few of the Cullum (spelling?) family (Ashley Greene, Peter Facinelli, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz). The rest are pretty much negligible.

I expect many girls are drooling and having terribly dirty thoughts about the characters right at this very moment.

I think they could have cats these films with anyone and they would have been as much of a hit. IMO the Fanbase is excessively rabid and get more of a kick just seeing stuff from the books onscreen, much like X-men fans, and would eat up any turd sandwich and ask for seconds.

You make a lot of assumptions about the fanbase.

As for Lautner, that's one thing where they messed up. In the book, if I remember correctly when Jacob's shapeshifter ability comes into play he drops out of sight for like two months or so and returns later all buff. They didn't do a good job of explaining that in the film.

I'll gladly admit that I've made a lot of assumptions but I've based them on the throngs of girls I know and have seen when I saw Twilight, since then, and the crowds at the theatres waiting to see New Moon.

My assumptions are subjective just like people and their own subjective opinions about people going to see Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, etc. We all make our assumptions based on what we see and experience. Maybe it's just that the girls are too young and get wrapped up in all the fantasy, I sure don't get it. Let them live their lives through average at best books and the movies. Just voicing how we feel on the subject.

Speaking of models while all the girls and a few dirty soccer moms are swooning over 'ol scrunchy face wimp Taylor Lautner I'm surprised as to why the musclebrain Kellan Lutz who's also in Twilight hasn't garnered as much attention.

He's the prototypical surfer boy blue-eyed blond.

or maybe he really has no acting talent.

I think it's because he doesn't have that big a role in the film so he doesn't get as much attention. Also, he's in a franchise with two of the most talked about ***** of the last couple years. It would be difficult to get much attention with them around. He was very good in Generation Kill, a much better role than Twilight fluff.

Shark Boy & Cedric Diggory - I thought it would be harder to live these 2 roles down but I guess nothing is impossible with lots of female fans.

I think if some random male model had been cast fangirls would be squealing about his mystique. It's the role that's attracting the girls, IMO, not the actor.

Disagree. My little sister was obsessed with him when he was Cedric Diggory.

There is obviously something about Robert Pattison because he is not a good actor and a lot of the girls I know don't think much of him either. I guess it's an each to their own type of thing. Maybe girls are attracted to his infrequent bathing. ;)
