I was thinking about this recently because a lot of people feel that Jeff Bridges could be playing Obadiah Stane in this Iron Man movie. The thing that bothers me about this possibility is that the casting announcement described Bridges' character as being a confidant and business associate of Tony Stark who plays a major role in shaping Stark's life. I know that this is only nitpicking, but this seems to me as reinventing a characters for the sake of it. Obadiah Stane was one of the more interesting villains from the comics. I know that their is absolutely no gurantee that Bridges is Stane, but this is just an idea that bothers me. It wouldn't be that hard to incorporate Stane into the story as the arbitrary business rival. Does anyone else share the same sentiment?
