lets say sam DOES make lizard would you want him to go 'evil dead' on it's arse (R rating) knowing this would hurt the BO (it would) or stick with the PG-13

It would make no sense to ever make an R rated Spiderman film. Not even if they adapted the spidey rape squad stories from the 70's.

Absolutely NOT; I'd prefer a PG-13 "Spidey" film over a rated-R one any day.

Spider-Man doesn't need nor warrant an R-rating. He ain't the Punisher.

If 300 can make 70 million in the first weekend Spidey could as an R rated film also. But it will never happen since Sony wants to draw more people in. Kids = money.

no, Spiderman movie well ever be rated R, a Spiderman horror monster movie would just be bad, and its not even about how lil or how much money it would make, the idea is ridicules, and completely unnecessary, I mean, it takes a lot to get a R rating, a Spiderman movie has no need for swearing, nudity or blood gushing violence, of that level
They could easily do it as a darker, scarier film without it being R rated, but, still, why would they want to do that, thats not what spideys all about

I wouldn't say Evil Dead fashion but yeah, no doubt it will lose box-office records but alot of kids my age would still want to se it so they'd take their parent or older brother/sister, whatever. But it's like the opposite thing if the movie were rated G or even PG, more younger kids/toddlers would come to see it with their parents but some may become un attracted if it were Rated G(not so much PG cause that was Indiana Jones rating and those films were awesome). Overall I'm gonna have to stick with PG-13 because making it Rated R(14A/18A) would be unnessisary(but for a Venom solo film that would be cool).

Venom solo even could go PG-13. Although, if he fights Carnage, R all the way. Nevertheless, even with Carnage, R rating is pushing it. If Raimi using the techniques from the Evil Dead, he probably could pull it off without causing too much blood (think the hospital scene from Spidey 2)

Even if the Lizard is in it, it wouldn't push the limits of PG-13. Carnage, on the other hand, would be borderlining on an R rating.
