guess i'm one of the few that doesn't want to see Carnage. i've always considered him a 2nd rate Venom. i know he's more dangerous and all but just the idea of the symbiote taking over a 3rd person (that has no real connection to Parker)...to me it feels like they were desperate for a new villain.

I take your point, but consider: Carnage's character is a major one. IMO, he ranks up there with Venom, Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Mysterio, Vulture, etc... He even got his own storyline in Maximum Carnage.

Let's face it. He WAS Spider-Man's deadliest foe. At least the others could be reasoned with. Carnage was a raving lunatic.

I read an article where Sam talked about that...I forget what his excuse was, but it was believable.
