Exactly who besides the wrestling crowd was Cena suppose to attract? I'd think people who didn't already know him would think it's a crap project just because a wrestler has the lead.

I think it's because Cena isn't appealing. He doesn't have the Rock or Hogan's charisma. And wrestling fans are probably sick of him being shoved down their throats, plus his weak looking moves and over the top wigga personality. He really should've just played a serious thug like he was doing in the early going.

Non wrestling fans hate him too.

My friend who knows nothing about wrestling (he doesn't even know that I'm a fan :o) saw a commercial for Raw and then a trailer for the Marine, and he said "That guy looks like a *****ebag."

This+Marine's box office=Cena has no appeal to non wrestling fans the way Hogan, Rock, or Austin did.

They can't ignore it anymore...Cena is the symbol of the current down period in pro wrestling, the way Diesel and Lex Luger were in WWE's post-Hogan pre-Attitude era.

And now they need a Bret Hart or HBK to start reviving it. All I have to say is good luck with that.

KABOOOOOM! Cena bombs! Now if only he would do the same on tv...

He does. They just refuse to acknowledge it.

The theater I saw Marine in was pretty packed. It was about 60% kids though. My friend was like; "Dude, is this a kids movie?". :csad:

This movie won't bomb. The budget is 15 or 20 million. It will make back it's budget with domestic box office, dvd sales/rentals, international box office, and pay-per-view buys.

:o wait...I forgot about marketing and distribution. Oh well...

He appeals to women. ANd there are more women than men on earth so HA! Cena Solja 4 Lyfe! :cmad:

*salutes*

What you'd expect it to be. Super Cena survives 5,000 explosions, 10 billion bullets, kicks everyone's ass, etc. Not too bad for a mindless action flick.

Any nice shots of Kelly Carlson?
Yeah, she wears a white wife beater at the end and it gets wet.

Edit: In fact, she wears tight little shirts and no bra several times in the movie.

No surprises with The Marine flopping.
I don't think it flopped, it was just all kids seeing it, and their tickets are cheaper than adults. :oldrazz:

It flopped the same way See No Evil flopped. I wasn't expecting the movie to break the bank anyways.

Besides, The Marine probably made more money than all of Hulk Hogan's movies (well, aside from Rocky III) combined....:o

From WWE.com:

Former WWE Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin has arrived at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and is in the locker room amongst several WWE Superstars, producers and crew members. The Texas Rattlesnake has been seen talking with various RAW and SmackDown Superstars.

At this time, WWE.com does not know the reasoning behind Austin’s sudden appearance at this RAW and SmackDown Supershow, but we do know that the last time Austin was on WWE television, he raised hell on Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC earlier this year.

Check back to WWE.com for updates on this breaking news.

I hope we get to see him tomorrow night.

Yes.

Hell yes.

I expect to mark out like crazy tomorrow night.

Stone Cold's movie is next, right? I'm sure they're prepping the ****ing. :)

And then Trips after that. The DX stuff is horrible enough, imagine the ****ing for their merch AND the movie!
