Yeah pretty much. If you look to past post (like a couple hundred pages back) he was given a lot of respect when he was the top midcarder, but he still wasn't anything special. Once he won the WWE title, they "Deisel-ed" him out (turned a cool "bad-ass" heel & turn him into a superman who kissees the fan's ass) If you notice when they go to places like New Jersey, New York, Philidelphia, Miami(actually pretty 50/50), Chicago & all of Canada, he geets a lot of boos. That's because even though he was a deacent midcard guy, he is not ready to carry the weight of the business. He started wrestling in 2000, 5 years is not enough time. He's WWE's new failed prospect, but it's definetly not the first. He may be worthy one day, but now he is still not a very good wrestler. Look at Kevin Nash, as Deisel, his WWE title run was discredited by his suddeen change & lack of ability. & a few years later he became the most credible champion WCW had at one point

haha, yeah, I definitely see a lot of comparisons of Cena to Diesel during his WWF title reign. But at least with Diesel, they had the smarts to turn him as soon as they realized he was getting booed as the mega-babyface. So far, they don't seem to do anything like that for Cena :(

I had hoped we saw the last of the Kiss My Ass Club when The Rock shoved McMahon's face square into Rikishi's big behind. I don't know how this will play out Monday, but with Vince calling Marty out and talking about his money troubles, I'm not really looking forward to this.

I think they're too worried about Cena's merchandising capacity to turn him. Otherwise, it seemed they would have done it by now. We'll see how that theory holds in these weeks leading up to WM. That little confrontation at the end of Raw did not go well for Cena. It's only going to get worse when he and Trips go to the inevitable in-ring promos and tag matches.

Of course, Marty isn't going to join the Kiss my Ass Club. It will seem like it at first, but once Shawn comes out, Marty will probably superkick Shawn just like how Shawn superkicked Marty and that jumpstarted his push.

a rap character is not a multi demographic character like Austin.Rock or HHH so he will always have trouble getting a good section of the crowd behind him

I dunno; everybody from Jay-Z to the white kids in my cul de sac rap these days. They even use rap to sell Dannon yogurt; I kid you not lol.

The touring Superstars of RAW were caught amid an escalating political crisis Friday, as the president of the Philippines locked down the country after what was declared a failed attempt to overthrow the leader from power.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo called for a state of emergency and the military went to high alert, fortifying the presidential palace and arresting demonstrators celebrating the 20th anniversary of the fall of former dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

WWE Champion John Cena, Triple H, Women’s Champion Trish Stratus and many other WWE Superstars were asked to stay in groups and when possible remain in their hotel rooms because of the chaos and potential for violence. Citizens were told that all rallies and protests were banned and would lead to more arrests. By late afternoon, thousands were in the streets in defiance of the government’s orders, according to multiple media reports.

Despite the danger, 15,000 determined WWE fans braved the streets and filled the Araneta Coliseum for a successful RAW live event in Manila. There were no reports of violence at the venue, and all WWE Superstars and personnel are safe and accounted for, WWE.com confirmed by phone.

RAW’s Superstars are in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, for two live events as part of WWE’s continuing expansion into foreign markets. The Superstars of SmackDown recently set attendance records in Mexico and last year were equally well-received in Europe.

The U.S. Embassy in Manila has issued a Warden Message to American citizens in the Philippines, advising them to take prudent steps to ensure their personal safety during this uncertain time.

I think this is the most interestling news story around. Even if WWE was not mentioned, how come no other news place is talking about a rebellion in the Phillippines?

Could we see a plate glass window and an impromptu Barber Shop? Hmmm.

It does smell like a set-up. When I wrote I wasn't looking forward to it, I should have been clear that I just don't like the angle with Shawn, not specifically this KMAC. For some reason, none of this is resonating with me. Seems like the same thing he did with Hogan a couple of years back. It was barely tolerable to me then. Now, it's more of a 'can we get this over already?'

Yeah, I wasn't digging it at first, but the inclusion of Jannety made it much better. You could have Jannetty totally resenting Shawn because Shawn became a star while Jannetty became nothing. Then you could have Vince basically saying he made a mistake when he made Shawn a star instead of Jannetty and he's now going to rectify that. Plus, wouldn't it be great for Shawn's final opponent as a regular to be against his former tag team partner? :)

better then having vince as his last.

I felt the same way about Triple H when he was on top for so long...I couldn't wait for someone to beat him and take over. I didn't think he had the carisma to be the tentpole for the WWE. But, ironically now i want him back in the saddle...he's really won me over ever since he returned from rehab!! He's shown everyone what it's all about, both IN AND OUT of the ring, and he's brilliant as a performer whether he's winning OR when he's getting pummeled by someone like BigShow. He's been an excellent example for everyone to learn from....bless that man!

is there a specific reason why Shawn's hanging it up as a regular? Even so, i thought it was interesting that shawn got to play out one of his final stories as a martyr to vince's devil...it allowed shawn to portray his real life and what it's like to try and live out a life of faith amongst strong persecution.

He's getting old. He can still pull out a good match, but hee has accomplished everything he can in the business, his spot is forever marked. If he left now, he cements his spot as one of the most respected. And having him come in for another great match on special occasions is the secret to keeping a legend on top forever.

Plus, I imagine he wants to spend time with his wife and kids. Better to go out now while he can still walk. I'm happy he was able to do it for this long. I thought we saw the last of HBK at WM14.

I never thought Shawn would return to wrestling, so his run the last three years has been a great ride. I also figured he would retired by now back in 2002, but he's still going on strong for the most part. I'm glad I've been able to experience his whole WWE career, and if this is his last match as a regular, I hope he goes out with one of the best matches of his career.

Hopefully this will be a HBK v. Marty Jannetty or Shane McMahon match, the former prefered.

To think, back when Shawn first made his return to the ring against Triple H, it was said that he would only wrestle every major PPV(WM, Summerslam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble). Then they said that he would wrestle every monthly PPV. Then all of a sudden, he became a regular performer again. I would say that we got lucky that he returned full-time after his career was almost over...

Marty Jannety won't join the "Kiss My Ass Club" he'll get his as beat by the leader of Spirit Squad in match for a one year contract.

He might win but only because Michaels will interfere.

I'll believe HBK is retiring when he says it himself.

And to leave after facing Vince McMahon at Mania? Umm no. He has to leave over putting guys like RVD and Shelton Benjamin over. But that's not something HBK really fulfilled his promise on since his return. He's constantly been put over workers he shouldn't have.

HBK is nearing semi-retirement. I don't think he'll retire.

I wouldn't be surprised that they setting up a heal turn and he becomes Raw GM.

I really can't stand the way Vince McMahon struts around, and the lack of respect he shows everybody, I really wish somebody would put Vince in his place, although that will never happen. I hope Marty doesn't join the Vince McMahon Kiss my A** Club on RAW...

I hope Stone Cold comes back again and kicks his ass just for the fun of it like he used to. Don't know why he wants to get rid of a popular wrestler that still generates money for him, that's what I don't get. I mean Ric is still hangin' in there.

It's hard for Stone Cold to want to work when you have him scheduled to job to Coach.

So will Angle retain next week? As much as I want Taker to win, the odds are on Angle to win to face Mysterio and Orton at WM22.

More than likely, Angle goes over. They did Orton/Taker last year and it might seem tired. Taker's style really doesn't lend itself to a 3-Way Dance either. Of course, I could be wrong, but I'm expecting the wrestling machine to walk out with the belt. I also expect Henry to play a role in it; something like "Nobody's gonna beat Angle but me."

Yep, thats why I said that Angle had the best odds. And you're right about the Taker/Orton thing, they'd just be repeating it all over again. Angle, Mysterio, Orton would make a great PPV IMO. As for where that leaves Taker, I'd like to see his feud with Henry continue. After he lifted him I was in total awe, especially with the age he's at now.

I was thorougly impressed with Taker's finishers on Henry. However, I'm still a bit sour on Henry as a main eventer. It's probably because I've seen too many of his failed runs in the past. I'm just not really seeing where a feud with he and Taker could go. Unfortunately for me, I feel that's exactly where they are heading.
