I'm creating this thread so we can post what we would like to see in the Green Lantern movie trailers. Now, let's write! :woot:

Teaser-Trailer:

For the Teaser-Trailer, i would use Pipe's monologue from the first Draft of the Script, intercut with quick scenes, from 5/6 seconds. Here's it:

. Warner Brothers logo. In green.

. Legendary Pictures logo. In green.

. DC Comics logo. In green.

. Fade in: Black Screen. We hear a steady, male voice-over: "We are not alone in the universe". The Voice-Over is accompanied by a rithimic music that growns slowly, in to it's climax, on the trailer's finale.

. Quick shots of the Universe.

. Voice-Over: "For years now, we've know of a group of extraterrestrial that patrol the universe."

. Quick shots of Kilowog, Tomar-Re, Salaak and Sinestro.

. "And keep it safe".

. Quick shots of the Green Lanterns flying and wielding their power rings.

. "We don't where they came from".

. Quick shot of Oa.

. "Or where they get their power".

. Quick shot of the Central Power Battery.

. "But we know this much: They're good."

. Quick shots of the Green Lanterns creating weapons and fighting... something.

. "And they protect us".

. Quick shot of the Green Lanterns flying sky high.

. "Just as they protect all life in the universe".

. Quick shots of the Ungarians.

. "There are heroes out there".

. Quick shots of the Green Lanterns flying in the universe, each of them glowing with power.

. "And now..."

. Quick Shot of Earth.

. "One of us..."

. Close in Hal Jordan, wearing his bomber jacket.

. "Has joined them...".

. Quick shot of the GL, gathered together, targeting their rings against the screen.

. "Taking up arms agains the forces of evil."

. Quick shot of several TVs talking about Green Lantern's heroic feats.

. "Here...".

. Quick shot of Hector Hammond, angry.

. "... And everywhere.".

. Quick shot of Legion in front of the sun.

. "One of us...". As we see Hal Jordan looking Abin Sur's spaceship.

. "Now..." as we see the ring flying in front of Hal.

. "One of them". As the ring enters his finger. Sparkling.

. "A Green Lantern". As the Ring explodes in light. Fade to black.

. "GREEN LANTERN" appears on the screen.

. Quick shot of Hal, wearing his full Green Lantern costume, flying in to the starts.

. "SUMMER 2010". Appears on the Screen.

So? :woot:

No. Pipe's little speech was one of the major elements that needed to be reworked.

I can tell you what I don't want to see. I don't want the trailer to be the type that shows all the film's highlights and gives away plot suprises that the general audience wouldn't be aware of otherwise. Yes, the marketing team should have a few attention grabbing scenes to sell the movie, but don't give away the whole store in the trailer. I hate it when they do that.

The trailer should open with Hal at Abin Sur's crashed jet, while a green light flashes right through his eyes and over the screen.

No, it doesn't. It's a good speech, sets up the Green Lantern Corps in a dynamic way and works within the context of the film.

It's an awful speech. Completely cliche-ridden, barely even mentions anything GL-related, and when it does so, does so in the simplest way possible.

"Dynamic"?

"But we know this much...they're good."

You're kidding, right?

This is for the teaser...

-Cue DC & Warner logos.

-Quick shots of a spaceship flying through the space then the atmosphere and then crash landing in the desert.

-A green glow from inside the ship.

-quick shot of a man in a leather jacket about to enter the ship (never see his face).

-Screen goes black And in bold green letters "No evil shall escape his sight" then "Green Lantern 2010".

It establishes that there is a intergalactic police force that protects the universe and sounds credible, since it's supposed to come from a man that don't know Oa and it's history.

It's GOOD.
