you know how they write scripts, describing the scene, w/ text, there are a bunch of fan films for the TDK, why not try just using words and see what we can come up w/. here is mine

warner bros / dc comic logos

scene: skyshot, gray/cloudy, sun hiding behind the clouds, bats flying around making the symbol screaching

fade to black

gordon (voice over): he did it again, this time a couple uptown

scene: dent on the rooftop by the batsignal

dent: his crimes have nothing connecting them, they appear random

scene: gotham at night, panning to see bats flying and landing at the top of a bldg

scene: wayne manor, daytime, in the library

alfred: you dont look well master bruce, ive never seen you so obsessed w/ anyone before
bruce: he s dangerous alfred, i dont know how far he can go or what he ll do next

scene: cop cars, crime scene

gordon: i cant keep goin after one man commisioner, there are too many others still out there
dent: lt. i ve been getting alot of pressure from the mayor on this man, he is the most dangerous one and the press loves him, you get him or else no one will feel safe

scene: batman fighting street gang, lots of puching w/ flying up and then landing to fight some more from behind the group

rachael: you got to be patient w/ harvey bruce, he means well, he s just impatient

scene: dirty look from bruce

rachael: actually in many ways he reminds me of you

music tempo picks up

gordon: people dont think you exist, they think you're a fabrication of the police, or that all you cause is chaos

bats: i ve only begun, they ll see

scene: batbike driving thru dt gotham while guns shooting at it

dent: theres something not right here

scene: dent in a dark run down apartment, he moves into the kitchen lit from the lights thru the window

dent: something's happened to him

scene: shot of a joker card

gordon: he's become more extreme

scene: camera pulls back to show harvey in a kitchen w/ large 'ha ha' s written all over in red

batman: he s become cocky, he s taunting us now

scene: taxi cab interior

joker (voice on the radio): hello all you fine funky friendly people of gracious gotham, tonight at 2am two of you will find yourself in a bank wearing a new quit fashionable vest of explosive new style, in many ways you ll be the talk of the town, all over the city....hahahahahhaha

scene: batcave at a series of monitors

bruce: i ve intercepted his last radio transmission, its relayed off several frequencies, but i found which where it originates

scene: by the river at night

rachael: you re becoming more like him
harvery: like who
rachael: that killer

scene:alley way, a dark sillohette stands by steam rising up from the ground as the profile of batman walks into frame

joker: hahhahaha what took ya so long
batman: this ends now

Ext. Alleyway. Night.

Two men stand separated from a crowd of forensics and police. The two men are Captain JAMES GORDON and district attorney HARVEY DENT. GORDON puffs on his pipe as they walk past the police line, lifting it over their heads. They proceed up the alley.
The alley is damp, puddle ridden, with dumpsters making it smell as sour as it looks.
The two men continue up to their goal. As they walk up the alleyway, they talk.

GORDON
Fifth this month.

DENT
He's toying with us, he's good at it too.

GORDON
Another prominent enforcer of the Maroni family. We're gonna’ have a mob war on our hands.​

The two men reach their goal. The music begins to swell slowly. There, in the shadows, lies a corpse. A man, 37 years old, his face is covered in shadows, but his blood spatters the asphalt. We cut to the two men’s faces-disgusted. Back on the body the camera zooms in as it slowly pans, the music continues to swell. The camera moves to what looks like a piece of paper near the body. We cut to GORDON who leans down to pick up the item. He lifts it up and the music reaches its highest level. We see what the item is in a POV close up and the music stops.

In GORDON'S hand, we see close, a playing card, a JOKER.

GORDON looks up to DENT.

GORDON
I think it's time you met my partner.​

CUT TO.
Ext. GCPD Rooftop. Night.

A light illuminates the two men from the side. The two men, GORDON and DENT stand on the rooftop, waiting.

DENT
How much longer?

GORDON
As long as it takes.

DENT
Oh.​

We hear something, like a soft rustle off-screen. The two men hear it as well, they turn and look. Standing in front of a large spotlight is the silhouette of the BATMAN. We cut back to the men's faces as we hear a voice off screen.

BATMAN (off screen)
Gentlemen.​

CUT TO.
BLACK

FADE IN.

CUT TO – A shot of The Gotham City skyline – Night

CUT TO – The Narrows. A familiar sight of dark run down buildings. One of them is a bar that looks as if it has seen been better days.

CUT TO –

INT. THE BAR.

A group of men are sitting round a table playing poker. All of them are dressed in suits and some are wearing hats. There looks like there could be thousands of dollars on the table.

The camera pans a round a few of the men as they lay their hands down.

MAN #1
I’m out!

MAN #2
Out!

MAN #3
Forget it!

MAN #4
I’m out and I’m broke!

Man #5 looks confident as he looks at a sixth man who we do not see.

MAN #5
Well?

The camera moves slowly around the table.

We can just make out that the Man #6 is also wearing a suit and hat that he is wearing tilted forward so we do not see his face.

He makes a large sigh as he studies his cards.

MAN #6
A man takes his sick dog to see a vet……

All the other men on the table look confused.

MAN #6
……the man carries the dog into the vets office and hands him over. The vet holds the dog and takes a long look when finally he says, “I’m going to have to put him down!” The owner panics and asks “why?” The vet says, “Because he’s really heavy!!”

Man #6 begins to chuckle. All the other men except man #5 either grin slightly or agree that that was a terrible joke.

Man #6’s laughter gradually becomes louder.

Man #5 looks does not look amused.

MAN #5
You gonna lay your cards or what??

MAN #6’s laughter has now become an insane noise that sounds like laughter mixed with pain.

MAN #1
What the hell is your problem?

MAN #5
That’s it!

Man #5 reaches inside his jacket and pulls out a gun to shoot man #6 but at the last second man #6 yells and quickly pulls out two guns and within seconds shoots every man in the room.

The scene is bloody.

Man #6 gets up from his chair, his laughter has become a mournful droning.

The camera rolls up behind him and as it does the droning become playful laughter. The camera rises above him to reveal poker hand –

Each card is a Joker card!

With a loud burst of laughter the camera zooms into the cards and loud dramatic music we are shown quick shots of Bruce Wayne, Alfred, Rachel Dawes (laying on the ground , eyes closed in an alley), Harvey Dent and finally –

Batman gliding toward the screen and as he does the Batman logo appears on the screen followed by –

WE SEE THE FINAL SCENE OF Batman Begins, WHERE GORDON AND BATMAN ARE DISCUSSING ESCALATION.

GORDON: What about escalation?

THE SCENE FADES AWAY AND WE SOAR THROUGH THE NIGHT SKY, OVERLOOKING GOTHAM CITY.

HUNDREDS OF POLICE MEN WALK UP AND DOWN THE STREETS OF THE NARROWS, GUNS ARMED AND READY.

GORDON (VO): We start buying semi-automatics, they buy automatics.

TWO POLICEMEN TACKLE A CRIMINAL, PINNING HIM DOWN WITH THEIR NIGHTSTICKS.

OSWALD COBBLEPOT SMOKES A CIGAR AT A NIGHT CLUB, SURVEYING THE CROWD.

GORDON (VO): We start wearing kelvar, they buy armor-piercing rounds.

BATMAN (VO): And?

BATMAN TAKES DOWN ZSAZZ IN THREE SWIFT HITS.

BACK TO THE ROOF SCENE:

GORDON: And you're wearing a mask...

BLACK.

GORDON (VO): Take this guy, has a taste of theatrics...

WE ARE AT A CRIME SCENE. DENT AND GORDON WALK OVER 2 DEAD BODIES, BLOOD SMEARED ON THE FACES TO FORM SMILES.

BATMAN EMERGES, STARTLING DENT.

GORDON (VO): Like you...Leaves a calling card.

ZOOM ON A BLOODY JOKER CARD.

QUE MUSIC...INTENSITY CRESCENDOS.

SEVERAL SHOTS INCLUDE:
- TUMBLER, SLIGHTLY MODIFIED, CRUISES DOWN GOTHAM'S STREETS.
- BATMAN LEAPS OVER A BUILDING'S LEDGE, TAKING OUT HIS GRAPPLING
HOOK
- RACHEL, DRESSED IN AN EVENING GOWN, LOOKS OFF CAMERA, WORRIED.

RACHEL (VO): Bruce, you can't save everyone.

BRUCE SITS WITH RACHEL AT A DINER.

BRUCE: I can try.

AN EXPLOSION AT A CONSTRUCTIN SITE CAUSES A STEAL BEAM TO HURL TOWARDS BATMAN, WHO DUCKS AT THE LAST SECOND AS THE BEAM SOARS TOWARDS THE CAMERA.

ALFRED DRESSES BRUCE'S WOUNDS IN THE BATCAVE.

IN A DARK ALLEY, GORDON HANDCUFFS AN UNCONSCIOUS CRIMINAL, LOOKING UP (AT BATMAN, PERHAPS?)

GORDON (VO): You've given the people of this city hope.

BATSIGNAL TURNS ON.

BATMAN DESCENDS DOWN FROM THE SKIES.

BATMAN (VO): That's not enough.

BATMAN RUNS TOWARDS THE CAMERA, HIS TEETH CLENCHED.

MUSIC DIES OUT...BLACK.

BATMAN (VO): NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TEXT: THE DARK KNIGHT

JOKER: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BRUCE WAYNE (VO): "For years, I have struggled with darkness. It took my family, and it made me what I am today."
-Bruce walks into his office, followed by Harvey Dent
HARVEY DENT: "You see what the Bat did this time?!"
-A TV screen is revealed showing 5 criminals strapped to a lightpole
HARVEY DENT (con't): "This guy is amazing..."
BRUCE WAYNE: "Yeah, he's something alright."
-At Arkham, a prisoner is shown being drug from his cell
GUARD #1 (to a figure we can't see): "You'll want to watch out for this one."
GUARD #2: Yeah, this is his last chance."
-The prisoner looks up, and it is THE JOKER
THE JOKER: "Please gentlemen, have faith in me."
-He smiles at the camera in his big Joker grin
-The guards keep walking with him
-Rachel Dawes is arriving at Wayne Manor, where Alfred greets her

-He lands on the street as The Batmobile arrives right where he is
BATMAN: "Alays on time."
-Rachel runs into Harvey Dent's office
RACHEL DAWES: "Turn on the news!"
-Harvey's TV shows The Joker escaping Arkham
HARVEY DENT: "Oh my god..."
-Jim Gordon flips on he Bat signal on the roof
BATMAN: "You called?"
-Gordon flips around suprised to see Batman so quickly
JIM GORDON: "He's escaped..."
BATMAN: "Not for long..."
"THE DARK KNIGHT..."
-Batman punches The Joker
-Harvey slams his hand on the desk in the courtroom
-Bruce and Rachel kiss
"...RETURNS!"
-The Joker punches Batman
-Rachel screams as she is taken away by The Joker's men
-Bruce holds the Batman mask up (as if he's doubting being a superhero)
-The Batmobile charges right towards the camera
Music stops.
The Batman symbol appears with a "II" on it

^That'd be pretty cool I think.

It sets up the story, but doesn't reveal too much at all.

And if you think that there's too much of The Joker in that, think again. The Joekr is the MAIN villain in this film, and possibly the ONLY villain. (if The Penguin doesn't make it in) SOOO...he'll be featured more than you think. This is not a 'Venom-SM3' situation...

Also, if you think we'll be getting this '1st trailer' with a May release film, such as Spidey 3...think again. Try somewhere around July 13th...at the very earliest. If not then, wait until CC '07. There'll undoubtedly be some very nice footage shown at Comic-Con...plus...we may, just may get our first poster around that time.

A GCPD crusier is clearly identified and races down the street in the rain.

Camera moves up the roof tops.

An individual in a cape is seen running on a roof, he jumps off.

A lightning bolt flashes and we see a silhouette of Batman falling similar to TDK #1. He lands on a smaller buliding and hides himself with his cape.

Cut to a shot behind Batman where we see that he's looking at the building across which has recieving doors. An ambulance, GCPD crusiers and officers are outside with the yellow tape already up. Lt. James Gordon gets out of a car and hurries in not to get wet.

Cut to
Middle aged man, dead. The biggest smile on his pale face. Drop of dried blood is below his lip on the left. It appears that a playing card (left bottom corner) is lodged in his forehead.

Cut to
Batman taking out his earbug and listening in on what's happening.

Cut to
A forensic scientist bends up and looks to Gordon.

Forensic scientist: Well he wasn't killed here.

Gordon: What that's three times now where the body has been moved and four times where the body hasn't been moved?

Cut to
Dead body from the floor, we only see the back of the card. Camera does a 180 and discover it is a Joker card.

Forensic Scientist: Yep. This time however the card is stuck in his forehead.

Cut to Female Newscaster:

The serial killer known as The Joker killed their seventh victim yesterday. It has been sixty-five days since the killings attributed to them has started.

On the news scroll at the bottom it reads LAST NIGHT ACTRESS SILVER ST.CLOUD APPEARED AT THE PREMIERE OF HER NEW MOVIE, "INTIMIDATION GAME" WITHOUT BOYFRIEND BRUCE WAYNE, LEADING TO SPECULATION THEY HAVE SPLIT. (This is for those screen caps people)

Cut to
The Tumbler driving down the streets of Gotham and rams one black car into a building.

Female Newscaster:
In other news, the figure known as The Batman, appears to have apprehended another inmate who escaped from Arkham Asylum in the Narrows Disaster.

Batsignal in the night sky

Cut to
Gordon and Batman standing opposite of each other.

Gordon: I want to bring someone else in.

Batman: Who would that be?

Gordon V/O: His name is Harvey Dent, he's the new D.A.

Harvey and Rachel Dawes smiling/talking walking up steps in the courthouse.

Cut to shot of
Rachel, Dent beside each other and Bruce across from them, outside the courthouse during the day.

Rachel Dawes: Harvey, this is my best friend, the famous Bruce Wayne.

Harvey Dent: Oh so you should be able to tell me when the monorail system will be working again? Traffic is horrible, I've almost been late to cases a couple times.

Bruce Wayne smirks: Wayne Enterprises is doing the best we can.

Harvey Dent: I'm guessing you want to finish your house first.

Cut to
Exterior, behind the partially rebuilt Wayne Manor. Bruce is standing infront of the boarded up hole that leads to the Batcave. Alfred is behind him.

Alfred: Maybe you should leave this to the professionals. Take care of the non-serial killers who are hurting this city.

Bruce: No. I made a promise to protect this city.

Cut to
Interior The Gordons Living Room
Barbara Gordon is watching the news while James is focused on a colouring book on the floor. We see a shot of Lieutenant Gordon on the screen.

Mrs.Gordon: Look James, daddy is on TV again.

There is a knock at the door. She gets up and walks towards the door.
The Joker's voice is heard behind the red door.
Joker: Is Jimbo home?
Mrs.Gordon: Who is it?

Cut to
James colouring. Sound of the door being kicked in and Barbara screaming. James turns and looks shocked.

Dent, Gordon and Batman are on top of the GCPD HQ with the Batsignal on.

Gordon's cell phone rings, he pulls it out and puts it up to his ear.

Gordon: Hello.
We hear the Joker's laugh.

A slow pan from behind Batman, the camera travels from right to left of the Dark knight in this iconic pose. He is perched on a Gotham rooftop as if he were a gargoyle keeping watch over its domain, his cape billows gently in the wind.

Joker's insane laughter can be heard all throughout the next part. He have a series of rapid cuts, chaotic events happening all over Gotham and the characters we love slipping into darkness.

Harvey Dent screams at a mirror and smashes it with a fierce punch.
An axehead is dragged along the ground.
Rachel Dawes is all bloodied up and tied to a chair.
Buldings burn all over Gotham.
Two gangs are involved in a serious gunfight.
The Batsignal is smashed.
Batman is in a raining alleyway and pummels an unseen criminals face.
James Gordon crawls along the ground desperately, as if in escape.
A coin is flipped, one side clean, the other scarred.
The Batmobile rips through the streets as gangs fight all around him.
A shadowed man in a purple suit kicks down a door.

Rapid cut to darkness. Laughter Fades Out.

Gordon and Dent stand over a bathtub, Flass is inside; covered in his own blood.

Gordon looks at Harvey worriedly who smirks, not noticing Gordon has turned his attention to the DA.
