WTF? I thought the Cold War was over

If there is anyone in the world who shouldn't criticize American imperialism, it's Putin. The man practices the same damn thing and makes it more blatantly obvious by having the mentality that everything that was controled by the Soviet Union still belongs to Russia.

Yeah, Putin sucks ass.

Not even then, let the job of "world police" to the United Nations.

As nice as that would be, the United Nations is too damn incompetent to handle that task. Blame the Security Council for that.

I thought all the UN did was misappropriate funds and rape african women. You mean there's another purpose to it?

Wait you live in Mexico and you're commenting on America's troubles? Besides the blatant contridiction in pointing out other's problems rather than dealing with your own, besides that, shut up hippie.

Foreigners like PLAS and Mr. Sparkle aren't foreigners like jourmugand. First of all, they're not ******ed. Second, they know what they're talking about and I've especially enjoyed reading Mr. Sparkle's comments in these kind of threads.

I know, but that could be solved if the Security Council was a little more open. Anyway, the UN at least is more representive of the world than the United Sates.

Like that will ever happen :o

Anyways:
United States > The Rest of the World :oldrazz:

fun fact:

the word "Putin" in spanish is a derogative term for someone who's a coward

fitting.

Here's one from me: every time you lick a stamp you ingest 1/10th of a calorie.

Where in mexico are you from?

This pic and the news article just reminded me of a book I once read; it's The Brethren by John Grisham. A major character in the book said to a presidential candidate that Mcdonaldizing the country (Russia) was simply not enough or something to that effect. The book was published way back in 2000 but if you read it you'd be surprised by the relevance of the story. The main plot really is about 3 former judges who develop a...lol, ok I'll stop there. Just read it, I highly recommend it. :cwink:

Damn, the 2 nuclear superpowers just can't get along, can't they. :csad:

well, there are a lot more than two nowadays.

Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico

it's a little city in the northeast of Mexico that borders with Brownsville, TX

it's not the best place to live in, but it's nice enough

just like the USA is worried about improving their education system so that it actually instills a more productive and critical attitude from its citizens, instead of wasting time, money and effort in pointless conflicts on the other side of the world, specially when there are a lot of inner problems that should be tackled

all these allegations and threats would not even be raised if each one took care of the things that really matter
Yet your first instinct was to blame the US, not Russia, not both nations. That bias is belittles your intelligence.

That said, personally, I'd rather American spend this kind of money helping people in third world countries rather its own citizens. It may not be a very popular thing to say, but really, I think we're - as a nation - wealthy enough, and we should really start helping some of the rest of the world before we slather ourselves with - I believe - futile socialism. But that's me.

I always like Mexico, the beaches in Tulum at night are still some of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Plus as you walk along them you just keep bar hopping the tiki bars where ever you see light. Try not getting laid after that.

I completely agree with that, and if we're gonna use the military send them into Sudan and places where the real troubles are. We do have poor here, but there's genocides going on and people dying by the millions, it's almost selfish to look only within these borders for troubles.

first of all, thank you for belittling me, it says way more about your intelligence

and if you actually read the post you quoted, you'd figure that I wasn't blaming anyone for anything, just pointing out some problems that, if handled correctly, could help much more the united states as a country than being in a war that, let's be honest, serves no point

and something else, if one really wants to help those who need it, it's much better if one's in a much healthier condition, you know, that whole "lead by example" thing that people seem to just not remember anymore?

and "wealthy" is very different from "healthy", as a matter of fact, most of those who are the first are seldom the former

your sentiments are honorable, but the reality, sadly is another thing

we have some nice beaches here, but sadly, I'm not a beach person

Agreed. The United States needs to fix its massive social & economic disparities before attempting to spread its empire even further around the world. While it's clear that the US is the dominant force on the planet, I don't believe that American influence globally is the best thing for anyone but Americans.

I agree that the US should lead by example, but I don't agree with the current example they have to offer. Before kicking people out of their house and rebuilding a McMansion for them to live in, the US should probably fix the major structural flaws in their design.

What? Not a beach person?!?! Dude you do not deserve to live in Mexico then.
what can I do? I grew up in a city with a very ****ty beach

it's like the guy who works at the pizza parlor, would you invite him to Domino's for dinner?

I love mountains, and forests and traveling, but if there's a beach there, I'd rather go look for museums, archaeological ruins, historic sites, theaters, etc

although nothing beats a moonlit walk on the beach as far as romantic places to take your loved one, I do gotta give you that

and Bush and Putin suck

I'm curious, How would you "fix" it?

Sorry not a good enough excuse. Leave Mexico now. I've been saving for a piece of property in Tulum for the last five years (yeah it's been slow but I spend a great deal on pot, beer and women) and you, you ingrate, don't even like the beach?!?! Out!

Bush and Putin suck and swallow.
