Written by Bruce Jones; Art and cover by John Watkiss

The superstar veteran team of fan-favorite writer Bruce Jones (NIGHTWING, THE WARLORD) and innovative artist John Watkiss (SANDMAN MYSTERY THEATRE, TRIGGER) explores the mysteries of life — and love — after death in this original re-imagining of the classic DC character. Combining over-the-top action and brain-tingling speculation, this is Deadman as only Vertigo could deliver in an ongoing series about sex and string theory; parapsychology and political conspiracy; where the "wonder years" and the afterlife are just two dimensions of the same reality.

Brandon Cayce is cocky young pilot for a major airline who likes to fly right and party all night. With his older brother Scott at the controls, Brandon is "deadheading" a free flight with a hangover that won't quit. Without warning, Scott deliberately crashes the plane into a downtown London skyscraper. Brandon is killed in a horrifying wreck, along with everyone on board.

And his day only gets worse from there.

To survive his own demise, Brandon must confront these riddles head-on, until he realizes that the person with the answers may be his late brother's own wife — a woman he once loved himself. And when he encounters her again, he finds that his love for her is one part of himself that will never die.

No More Brand :(

Well, Boston isn't the only ghost in the universe.

wtf? lmao

Yeah, we briefly chatted about this in another thread...

It's such a bad idea, I've got no interest what-so-ever.

Fact is....anything Bruce Jones writes...I stay away from. I've learn my lesson once. Why does this guy keep getting work. Most of his runs on mainstream titles always get such bad press.

It's both Bruce Jones and not Boston Brand. Like hell I'll be picking that up.

Now, this may be stupid to ask, but.....

Who is Bruce Jones, and why does he suck?

And a split run on the Hulk before that. Some liked it (me), some hated it. His Nightwing run however..... well, its just total ass.

I liked Jones' Hulk initially, but it just dragged on and went nowhere. Then there was all that stuff with Betty's resurrection and it just did not work.

And lets not forget that God awful Absorbing Man arc.

i dont see anything wrong with his nightwing, its alright

Except it being a total raping of the Dick Grayson character? I guess see nothing wrong with it then too.

This isn't gong to be a DCU title - it's going to be Vertigo or Wildstorm (or what ever the mature imprint is). Here's hoping Boston will still be around in the DCU proper.

How the hell has Bruce Jones managed to get to write Man-Bat, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, Nightwing, Deadman, OMAC, and Warlord all in one month?

I'm pretty sure it's been said that because of the Vertigo title we won't be seeing Boston around anymore.

Another one bites the dust at DC it seems.

Of course, it would be kinda nice for Boston if he actually got to go to heaven.

So, wonder what member of Minoriteam the new Deadman will be?

I thought it was actually some of his better stuff. True Absorbing Man was incredibly out of character, but he was genuienly creepy. Thats a rare thing in a comic. The end of the whole Betty storyline was pretty bad though.

Bad luck, part of the agreement with their Vertigo line is that Boston won't appear in normal DCU books. They actually had to swap him in exchange for Jonah Hex.

Actually, the new Deadman is white.

Boston was actually more multicultural with his origin incorperating Hindu beliefs.
