WWE 2K15 on Next-Gen

There were reports last year that over time Yukes would fading out then gone after 2K and Visual Concepts would gain more control and experience after working with Yukes,The articles doesn't mention Yukes and so I thought they were gone since the THQ team(except Brian Williams)have been cut completely in the last few months.

I'm guessing Yukes is co-developing until 2K16 or 17

If anything, they'll have a minor role (maybe).

Update On WWE 2K15 Possibly Getting A New Release Date, Rumored My Career Mode, More

We noted yesterday that there was talk of releasing the WWE 2K15 video game around WrestleMania 31 time to take advantage of the corporate synergy going around WWE at that time of the year.

Capsule Computers reports that the game is scheduled to be released in March 2015. They add that development of the game is being completely handled by Visual Concepts, the developer behind the NBA 2K series.

A "My Career" mode is rumored to replace the 30 Years of WrestleMania mode where the player starts out in WWE NXT and works their way to the main roster and to the top.

I really hope that rumor is true!

yeah, me too! The Career Mode is what I'm most looking forward to.

and I don't mind if they miss this Fall and release it in March 2015, if it means they can polish the game more.

I'm okay with a career mode, but I hope it's not at the expense of Universe. If I can't set up my own rosters, shows, PPVs and storylines, I'm not interested.

Universe should be kept in as a seperate mode or merged with a new career mode

Being released next year around WM would have been cool but as long as 2K does proper bug testing then cool

Needs a lot more than bug testing.

Tag team matches are completely broken. I don't know how many times I've been DQed in a tag match because my partner will walk to a corner and continue walking instead of getting out of the ring.

hopefully it's a polished title..........I wouldn't have mind waiting until March, but the traditional release window continues......lol.

man......October is going to be a PACKED month for games, that's for sure!!

Batman Arkham Knight and this game are both coming out in October and both are day 1 must haves for me,IF Assassin's Creed Unity comes out that month again too..I'll be f'n broke.

I'm lucky I'm getting Destiny in September for my birthday

yeah....

Dragon Age Inquisition (my must have title of the year) and Shadows of Mordor also come out in October.

I've already got Dragon Age paid off and reserved......lol.

so, I guess if I had to choose one more October title, it would probably be WWE 2K15. I think I can hold out for Arkham, Destiny, and Mordor and get those around Black Friday or XMAS if there are deals.

that's all provided, of course, that WWE 2K15 doesn't look like "more of the same" just with prettier graphics.

I'm not expecting a complete overhaul, but I am expecting an "evolution" of the series, being that it will be the first next-gen wrestling game.

especially with the gameplay mechanics.

Not expecting a huge overhaul but a noticeable enough change in the right direction besides nice graphics,2K are in full control than barely any for 2k14 and visual concepts working with Yukes in developing the game&the franchise in the future is a very good thing.

I'm getting the game no matter what and always do just for the simple fact that it's a new wrestling gam,I'm a wrestling fanatic/wrestling games among my favorite game genres and I constantly need my wrestling fix that includes games

it will be exciting to see what they come up with, at least. hope it's good.

and hopefully by October 28, both the PS4 and X1 will have added support for mp3 playback and storage ( and other media files ) so we can use custom entrance music for our CAWs.

that would be one instance where the current lack of media file support would actually affect gameplay and possible enjoyment of the game.

Well not for me since I have music unlimited and it won't affect any gameplay but I can understand how it can ruin enjoyment for those who love entrances

I'm trying to come up with a list of things I do want to see in the game or improved upon. Some I've have came up with so far:
Graphics overhaul
Keeping the same gameplay mechanic, but adding some new things
No limits on # of CAWs (I think it was Showdown: Legends of Wrestling III that had this)

The biggest addition brought back and improved upon for the gameplay I want so bad is a weight limit system like in the N64 games or Day of Reckoning 2!

It'd be very realistic for a sim game and adds strategy cause if I'm a high flyer against a big show type of guy then I have to rely on speed/strikes/basic soft grapple moves and may have to skip doing doing a certain sig/finisher so that meads winning by roll ups,IF I'm a big guy going against a cruiser weight or certain type of lightweight then I have power moves and advantage over submissions but my speed limits me and strikes can still hurt my limbs,it'd be everything different each time and would be nice not seeing someone like Jericho doing triple power bomb to Big Show

yes.

I was thinking of something like this, too.

maybe also make strikes more "tactical." if you target and weaken certain body parts with strikes and attacks, that will actually have some kind of gameplay effect on your opponent.

for example, targeting the legs and crippling them will severely limit your opponent's mobility/running ability.

targeting arms will decrease the power of his grapples and make it easier for you to reverse/counter/break out of his grapples, holds, and submissions. ( think about it, if your arms are tired/hurt/crippled, it's going to be much harder to pick someone up or hold them in a submission. ).

and, of course, all of this would apply to your character, too. so that means you have to play more "tactically" in how you defend yourself.

a high flyer, who depends on speed and mobility for the advantage, must protect his legs and avoid getting them damaged. otherwise, you will be grounded and put at a sever disadvantage.

also, introduce "fighting styles" into the mix.

that way, the wrestlers won't all feel and play roughly the same. Playing as Big Show should not be the same as Rey Mysterio. Triple H shouldn't play the same as Daniel Bryan.

Each wrestler ( and each CAW ) should be given a different fighting style ( perhaps a primary style and then a secondary style ) and that should fundamentally affect how they play in the game.

I don't normally play as real wrestlers and mainly play as CAWS, but even in 2K14, when I played the WM mode and had to use the real wrestlers, they didn't feel all that much different from each other.

playing as Andre the Giant didn't feel all that much different than playing as Hogan or Macho Man.

not to the extent of, say, in Street Fighter, where playing as Ryu is totally different from playing as Chun Li or Zangief.

All I want is a career mode where you can create a wrestler and have a full career with them.

They used to have that in 2008,but they took it out.It was executed pretty poorly, but it did give us an awesome Sabu.

It was executed fantasticly in HCTP and All Stars..although all stars was of course a whole different type of game

Yes to this, and the weight classes Luis described. (It definitely should be a very big deal for Hogan to bodyslam Andre, and virtually impossible for Rey to lift Mark Henry. Conversely, Show should be able to dwarf-toss Rey right out of the ring easily enough.)

I'd also like to see this kind of realistic physicality extend to Universe and create a "DL" of sorts. Injuries (real or fake) play a huge part in bookings and title hunts, and should do so in Universe mode as well. (Look at how injuries are wreaking havoc on current superstars like Bryan, Taker, and Angle.)
