I downloaded the demo today and it was surprisingly entertaining. I've never played a WWE game before (I don't even watch it) but I could see myself picking this game up.

I thought it was really fun, it had a surprising choice of wrestlers for the demo. Rey Mysterio is ridiculously awesome. It's definitely an arcade wrestling game but I thought that they didn't really feel arcadey if that makes sense. They had a bit of weight to them.

Yup, I was surprised at how fun it was as well. It's on my radar.

I've heard it's reminding people of No Mercy...which I ****ing loved.

All I know is, I'm in...because they've got HBK.

I played today at Best Buy, and it's fun as hell. Basically like a reboot of the Midway arcade Wrestlemania game. It's real exaggerated.

I gave the demo a try last night. While it can be fun, I'm not a fan of the controls. I do love the fact that they basically threw any hint physics, right out the window.

I hate how you have to counter before the indicator pops up, seems like a dumb idea. Also I do not like how you have tap the finisher buttons than tap them again to do the finisher and how they both can be stopped.

I haven´t tried it still as i don´t have a gold membership on XBL anymore, so, waiting for it to be opened for everyone, which might happen during this week

It was surprisingly fun. I went into the demo not knowing much about the game other than the 'two eras' bit, so seeing the Ultimate Warrior toss Rey Mysterio about 20 feet in the air was a shocker. :funny:

It definitely hearkens back to the old WWF arcade games. There's no way I'm going to spend $60 on it (from what I've read since, there's not enough depth) but somewhere down the line when a real sale/discount kicks in, I'll likely pick it up.

I loved No Mercy, but I can't get back into the Incredible Hulk look of the characters as well as the game being over the top. IMO "The Macho Man" Randy Savage is the only reason to get this game, but I'll just stick with Smackdown Vs. RAW 2009 and Legends of Wrestlemania.

Joystiq gave it 4 1/2 stars out of 5. They REALLY liked it! I'll have to pick it up soon.

I bought it and returned it. WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2011 is much MUCH better, is more depth, a better and bigger roster and is better online

Well, this isn't supposed to be SmackDown.. I believe this is intended to be more of an "arcade" game where as SmackDown is more of a sim.

Seriously, the one thing that still bugs me about SmackDown? The hair... man, why can't they fix the hair. Hair shouldn't look like a helmet, lol.

I found the character models impressive in All Stars, but the game itself doesn't seem like it's worth 60 bucks. Gameplay wise it comes across similar to Ultimate Muscle, I'll prolly pick up All Stars once the price drops.

Same.

I REALLY like it, don't get me wrong... but I honestly think it should be more of a 50 dollar title ala the Lego games.

yeah 49.99 would have been better for this game, offers the same as any Smackdown game, just way over the top with the moves.

It doesn't, since SvR 2008 the hair has been rendered fluidly and naturally.
The SvR games from the previous generation of consoles, yeah, I agree that the hair and even clothes were stiff but that was 5 years ago lol.

I haven't played this 2011 but IGN's review said the hair was still "stiff as all hell." Meh, if you're saying it's not I'll take your word. Maybe I'll pick up 2012.

IGN also gave the game an 8/10, while the reader rating was 9/10. As far as wrestling games that ain't to shabby.

You preferred Madden over Blitz, didn't you? :csad:

No, I enjoyed both equally, though I see what you are getting at lol

Honestly, I don't think taking one games template (which they did) and stripping it of 70% of what made it awesome and adding over-exaggerated cartoon elements makes for a better game.

And the "legends" are in SVR 2011 lol, so that concept is kind of a no sell for me when Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold, The Rock and a ton of other legends from yesteryear are already in SvR 2011.
