Emily Watson, Anna Friel and Lena Headey will star in Jon Amiels The Poisoners, a dark comedy about women left behind in an English farming community during World War I who become involved with several German prisoners-of-war.
Paul Billing has written the screenplay. The project will be produced by Jeanna Polley and her London-based production company The Producers.
The cast will also include German actors Ken Duken, Hanno Koffler and Alexander Scheer.
The production is scheduled to begin filming in Ireland and at MMC Studios in Cologne, Germany in late summer of this year.
The producers are currently negotiating with the Irish-based production company Octagon Films Limited, headed by James Flynn.
Ellen Wander and her Film Bridge International are handling worldwide sales.
Amiel, repped by Gersh and Artist International Management, most recently directed 2008s Creation.
Watson, repped by UTA, Independent Talent Group and Casarotto Ramsay & Associates, most recently appeared in War Horse. Friel, repped by UTA, Ken McReddie Associates and Ziffren, Brittenham, was seen in 2011s Limitless. Headey, repped by CAA, Troika, TMT Entertainment Group and Kraditor & Haber, is currently appearing in HBOs Game of Thrones.
