Mine will take much longer to whip out because I'm currently taking 4 math classes at college, but here's a taste that builds upon the last scene in TLS. It's gonna be a little difficult to deal with the "resurrections" of both Xavier and Cyclops, but I'll find a way. So tell me what you think:

FADE IN:

EXT. CENTRAL PARK, NEW YORK CITY - DAY

An elderly MAN sits at a small table playing CHESS. He has
one, obvious move till checkmate, but he does not touch the
board. He just stares at it silently.

Camera pans to reveal the face of MAGNETO.

MAGNETO
If you're here to arrest me for
crimes against humanity, Agent
Bridge, where are your compatriots
from S.H.I.E.L.D.?

MAGNETO looks up into the fact of a tall, African American
military officer dressed in a crisp black suit.

AGENT BRIDGE
(leering)
I don't think I'll need backup to
deal with a mere human like
yourself. And I'm not here to
arrest you. I'm here, simply, to
check up on how you are, Mr.
Lensherr.

MAGNETO
(scoffs)
Don't insult my intelligence, Mr.
Bridge. I know you are not here
because you care about my
well-being.

AGENT BRIDGE
We need information, Mr. Lensher.
Specifically information regarding
the mutant terrorist group with
which you were affiliated with
while you went under the alias of
Magneto.

MAGNETO
I still AM Magneto.

AGENT BRIDGE
Oh really? The Magneto I knew was
the "master of metal and
magnetism". Right here before me,
(MORE)

AGENT BRIDGE (cont'd)
I see nothing more than a
harmless, old man

AGENT BRIDGE takes the seat across from MAGNETO and moves
MAGNETO'S chess piece for him. MAGNETO takes affront to
AGENT BRIDGE'S action and glares at the S.H.I.E.L.D.
officer. He turns his head slightly, his eyes moving from
BRIDGE's head to his heart. His bitter glare suddenly
changes into a wry smile.

MAGNETO
How is your pacemaker, Agent
Bridge?

A confused look appears on BRIDGE's face.

AGENT BRIDGE
How do you know about my.....

BRIDGE clasps his chest as he falls to the ground, knocking
over the chess set and the pieces to ground. MAGNETO rises
from his seat and towers over the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, his
hand outstretched.

MAGNETO
I feel that your heart is not
beating like it should. Let me
adjust it for you.

MAGNETO moves his hand as if he were turning a doorknob as
he uses his abilities to control and manipulate METAL,
abilities that were believed gone after having been stabbed
with multiple syringes that containted the cure for mutants,
to violently move the PACEMAKER inside BRIDGE'S body.
Magneto makes another turn with his hand and BRIDGE'S body
goes limp.

MAGNETO
I'd say that is a significant
improvement, don't you?

FADE OUT.

I've added some bits of dialogue from the previous version that I posted earlier.

I quite like it. Although it's pretty violent for an opening, and if it was in a park, wouldn't people see what was happening to Agent Bridge?

Interesting point. I hadn't really thought of that. I have a few scenarios in my head. I haven't decided yet. I thought it could be early morning in a not so populated park (someplace other than Central Park). The other idea was have all the people look in shock at what happened to Bridge and Magneto simply walks away. He'll strut in a way to assert that he's no longer a human and back to being what he loves to be. Everyone else will be afraid to move. They have an incling that he's a mutant. Which would be better?

I think the second idea works better. The first one, well... why would Magneto want to play chess in the early hours of the morning with an agent from SHIELD? :p

^^Hehe, much better. I could actually imagine that scene in an X-Men film. :)

Thanks. Here's the next scene. Please comment on any logic errors or any of that sort in the dialogue, etc:

EXT. C.I.A. HEADQUARTERS, LANGLEY, VA - NIGHT

3.

INT. C.I.A. HEADQUARTERS, LANGLEY, VA - NIGHT

A large stack of papers are slammed onto a large round table
where a number of government officials have gathered to
discuss the growing mutant situation. Tha man who just
slammed the stack of papers is none other than the PRESIDENT
of the UNITED STATES, Thomas McNamara.

MCNAMARA
(fuming)
Gentlemen, I want you to explain
this situation to me again.

ADVISOR 1
(clearing his
throat)
The man formerly known as Magneto
may have gained his mutant
abilities back. It’s an anomaly,
sir. And probably the only one
we’ll have to deal with.

The door to the CONFERENCE room opened and in walked
DIRECTOR of the Central Intelligence Agency, Alexander
Fitzroy. He places a file in front of the ADVISOR and
turned on the projector. All heads in the room turned to
the screen at the far end of the room as FITZROY went
through some slides that contained pictures and reports.

FITZROY
I hate to rain in on your parade,
but this is not an isolated
incident. We have a young teenage
girl, who was administered the
cure only 2 months ago. She was
assaulted by a group of her male
peers outside her school one day.
As you can see in the photos,
there was nothing left of these
boys but ashes. Intelligence that
the agency has gathered tells me
that there have been and will be
more of these occurrences.
Although it cannot be determined
why the “cure” was temporary, we
now know that is. What we need to
ask ourselves now is what do we do
next.

The PRESIDENT rubbed his sweaty brow, staring at the
projection of Magneto's criminal file. All eyes in the
conference room were locked on the president, waiting for an
answer.

4.

MCNAMARA
Mr. Trask?

TRASK
Yes, Mr. President?

MCNAMARA
I want you to initiate Project
WIDE AWAKE.

TRASK
Wide Awake?

MCNAMARA
Yes, Trask. I know the program
existed and I know that the
government spent a considerable
amount of money to keep it running
during the presidency of McKenna.
I want you to restart Wide Awake
with whatever's left.

TRASK
Sir, with all due respect, Project
Wide Awake was a last resort to a
significant mutant threat.

MCNAMARA
If you haven't noticed, Trask, we
ARE dealing with a significant
mutant threat. Magneto's on the
loose and he's regained his
abilities. What happens once he
recruits another army of dangerous
mutants? Do you remember how many
we lost at Alcatraz?! We need to
find Magneto and round up the
other mutants before this
situation gets out of hand.

TRASK
I understand your concern
wholeheartedly, Mr. President. But
starting up Project Wide Awake
again will cause alot of unrest
with mutants nationwide and that's
not something I think we're fully
prepared to deal with.

The Presidential Advisor raises his hand quite feebly.

5.

ADVISOR 1
Ummm....what exactly is Project
Wide Awake?

FITZROY
Project Wide Awake was a program
constructed to deal with what the
government considered a possible
threat to national security:
mutants. This was a time when we
were uncertain about the mutant
phenomenon. The program was
started by Trask and former
Colonel William Stryker. Now, as
you all now, Stryker had a
tendency to involve himself in
some experiments that some
consider to be inhumane.
Consequently, all his projects
were scrapped, with the exception
of Wide Awake. Wide Awake was
deemed to be beneficial in the
future by our predecessors. As
for the specifics of the project,
I'll leave those up to Mr. Trask.

TRASK
Project Wide Awake was a response
to a mutant threat with the use of
robotics.

ADVISOR 1
Robotics?

TRASK
(nodding)
Advanced robotic foot soldiers
equipped with weaponry that won't
be available on the black market
for at least another 15 years. We
call these soldiers, "SENTINELS.
Their heights range from 6 feet to
60 feet. Before the program was
shut down, we had produced
approximately 200 units.

ADVISOR 1
200?

FITZROY
At the present time, they're at an
undisclosed location collecting
dust.

6.

MCNAMARA
Trask, I want Wide Awake up and
running within the next week. That
should be plenty of time for you
to get the Sentinels out into the
field. I need you to put aside
whatever empathy you have for
these mutants and think about the
lives we'll save.

TRASK
(sighs)
I bow to the wisdom.

FADE OUT.

Still going good. I guess everybody wants to see Sentinels in X4, don't they? :p

Nice build up of tension. Waiting to see more.

Here's some more:

INT. XAVIER MANSION, WESTCHESTER NY - DAY

Professor Charles Xavier's office has been left untouched
after his tragic death. His sleek and quite sophisticated
wheelchair is still resting behind the desk. On the desk
were several photographs that showcased Xavier's legacy. All
was quite serene until the door opened and in walked Dr.
Henry McCoy, Ororo Munroe, and Logan.

STORM
(crossing her arms)
So, Hank, what is so important
that you had to pull us from
teaching? We were in the middle
of "Heart of Darkness".

WOLVERINE
I'm not complaining. It was a
bore.

BEAST
I'm afraid this matter we need to
discuss is of the upmost
importance, Ororo. Joseph Conrad
can wait.

STORM
What is it?

BEAST
There have been reports coming in
from Langley of the cure, that has
caused so much controversy, is
wearing off on some mutants.
Magneto is one of them.

STORM
So the cure is ineffective?

BEAST
(nodding)
It appears so. No explanation has
been given on why. The White
House is in a frenzy over this,
and as of late, I have been kept
in the dark.

STORM
Hank, you're Head of Mutant
Affairs. How can you be kept in
the dark on something like this?

BEAST
I'm not exactly sure why. I have
my suspicions, but they are just
suspicions at the moment. However,
I do know that they have come up
with a solution to this problem
and the solution is not exactly
favorable to the mutant
population.

WOLVERINE
(shakes his head)
Just when things were starting to
get better.

BEAST
I do know another thing and that
is the solution involves the late
William Stryker.

WOLVERINE
Stryker?! But he's dead!

BEAST
Yes he is, Logan, but whatever
work he did with the government
still exists. Now you understand
how problematic this situation is.

STORM
What can we do?

BEAST
All we can do, Ororo, which is to
wait and hope that things will
turn out better than they seem.

FADE OUT.

You really jump right into the plot. Maybe an establishing scene with your main characters somewhere in the begining?

Can't say I'm too fond of the cure fading. Feels like a cop out.

Magnetos dialog is sexilent. Ian would have a field day with that first scene.

Well, "late" generally implies that the person is dead. :p

Good point, I'll definitely have to deal with that.

I'm not either, but I really want Magneto back and I want things to escalate between mutants and humans. The last movie had a fairy tale happy ending where everything was allegedly resolved. I want to go back and show that change is progressive and not instantaneous.

I'm proud of Magneto's dialogue. He's like a mutant Hans Gruber, but more genocidal.:D

Maybe I'll incorporate a Christopher Walken-type character....oh the possiblities!:D

TKing said:

Well, Wolverine isn't exactly the brightest guy on the planet

it's payback for taking almost every comic character's traits in X3....i've given him some of juggernaut's:D

^So I take it Wolverine is taking a backseat in this fanscript? Please say he is.

TKing said:

He isn't going to be the prominent character, but he'll be like he was in the comics before the movies and TV show came out. He'll have a decent sized role. I'm still trying to figure out a way to bring Cyclops back because I have big plans for him, as well as Xavier.

Here's an edited and expanded version of the exchange between Beast, Storm, and Wolverine:

you can imagine what kind of experiments
and projects he was working on.

STORM
What can we do?

BEAST
All we can do, Ororo, which is to
wait and hope that things will
turn out better than they seem.

Beast looks at the pictures on the desk and gently picks up
one. It is a photograph of Xavier, Scott Summers, Jean
Grey, Ororo Munroe, and Beast himself. Beast cannot help
but shed a tear as memories begin to flood his mind. Storm
notices this, gently grabs Beast's arm and leans on his
shoulder.

STORM
Those were happy times, weren't
they?

BEAST
(grinning)
Absolutely.

Wolverine is off to the side, watching this tender moment
between two friends as they reminisce about old times, and
smiles.

WOLVERINE
Well, I'm going to go round up the
older brats for a training session
in the woods.

Wolverine leaves, closing the door behind him as Beast and
Storm continue their conversation.

BEAST
He certainly has adjusted well to
his new life as a mentor to the
children.

STORM
Yes, he is. He does what he can
to help around here, but we're
still shorthanded. We need to
hire more teachers.

BEAST
Might I suggest a telepath?
Someone with telepathy would prove
invaluable to the Institute.

9.
STORM
And where would I find one, Hank? One
we can trust? I don't want to
place the safety of the school and
its students in jeopardy. I mean, how
many trustworthy telepaths are
there?

BEAST
I'm sure there are many. You just
need to look for them. I'll
contact Moira McTaggart and see if
she can help. But in the
meantime, I must leave for
Washington.

STORM
Leaving already?! You just
got here!

BEAST
I'm sorry, my dear, but duty calls
and I still need to find out
exactly what our government is up
to.

STORM
Allright. You take care.

BEAST
I'll be back as soon as I can. Oh,
and I'd appreciate it if you could
give me some clear skies as I head
to Washington. I get a bit antsy
on the plane if there's even a
hint of turbulence.

STORM
I'll see what I can do about that.

I'm also deciding on how to resurrect Cyclops and I need help. I was thinking of going the "Alias" route where Michael Vartan's character was killed of in the season premiere, then showed to be in hiding towards the end of the season. I was thinking of having Cyclops in isolation for a period of time. Xavier instructs Wolverine to bring Cyclops back to the mansion. And there's an not so friendly exchange between the two at first. This is the only good explanation I can come up with. If you any of you can think of something better, let me know.

In my X4 script, I was thinking about including Cyclops near the very end, where he is picked up by Brotherhood scouts, and then taken back to their base. But I decided against this, because I chose not to include the Brotherhood prominently in the film. But it's your story. It's up to you. :p

I want to bring Cyclops in early on so we can bring him back as field leader of the X-Men. So I'll most likely go with the isolation route. I have big things planned for Cyclops:)

Cool, I look forward to seeing what you have in store.

For the sake of laziness, I'm putting the link where my script can be read as it develops.

http://www.scriptbuddy.com/community/?p=4291530558

Password: kevin

I'll bump this page every time I update the script. At the moment, some dialogue has been tweaked, changed, and deleted. Enjoy!

It's looking good so far. And thanks for the link, I might try using that software myself. :)

I've been thinking and I've decided to write two versions of the script. The first one is what you're seeing now where the cure is wearing off and the sentinels appear. The second one will significantly change some parts of the script, but much of the dialogue and scenes will be the same. I plan to have the cure evolve into the legacy virus and work my way up from there. So in about a week or so, I might write the first page of the other script.

I've added some more dialogue. With a cameo as well. A short but sweet one.:)
