This seems really interesting for some reason. I wonder how it will turn out. It's funny, ever since 'Alice in Wonderland' came out there's been tons of these sort of films.
Back in August, Warner Bros. Pictures nabbed the rights to the Image Comics series Nonplayer by Nate Simpson. The big screen adaptation was then set to be produced by David Heyman (Gravity, The Harry Potter film series) and Roy Lee (The Woman in Black). Nonplayer is a story about a young woman named Dana Stevens who escapes from her drab life into an online fantasy world, where shes a fearless warrior.
Now, BleedingCool reports that one of my favorite people on the planet (yes, the entire thing), writer and she-of-fiery-red mane, Ms. Jane Goldman (X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass) is currently penning the big-screen adaptation for the comic.
Goldman said,
Im working on a sci-fi project for Warners. Its called Nonplayer, an adaptation of a really wonderful comic that just won the Eisner for Newcomer. Its futuristic, its incredible. Science fiction is not a genre Im used to, but its my favorite.
