'X-Men' Star Hugh Jackman to Visit Seoul
kt_space.gif
Hollywood star Hugh Jackman will visit Seoul on June 13, ahead of the official release of his new film “XMen: The Last Stand” here on June 15.

He will be the second big movie star to visit Korea to promote a film since actress Renee Zellweger, who paid a visit for the promotion of “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” in 2004.

Jackman will stay in Seoul for three days, participating in various events such as a fan meeting and news conference. He plays the mutant Wolverine in the sci-fi action movie, the third installment of the trilogy.

Cool:up:

I think i posted the Taiwan bit in the Jackman thread.

Hugh's back in Australia (arriving a few days ago) and he will be there through September. Don't know when he's going to Taiwan, but rehearsals start for his arena tour for Boy from Oz on June 26, and the arena show starts Aug. 3, so I assume it will be before the 26th - my guess would be after Seoul.

Seriously, Hugh needs to slow down already especially with Boy from Oz on the horizon. Even if he's not looking worn out and -seemingly- enjoying himself he (or Fox) should let some other cast members go to Asia.

I wonder if others may go also - this article just mentioned Hugh but I wonder if other cast members will go. It may also depend on their availability - Hugh is free until June 26.

The cast is so huge they must be able to muster up a group of them to Asia.

Scoop airs July 28 and he will be in BFO rehearsals then so maybe he can take a few days off to promote that. The last date for his BFO tour is Sept. 16. His movies don't start until Oct. 13 (The Fountain) and then they are all bunched together - The Prestige Oct. 27, Flushed Away Nov. 3, and Happy Feet Nov. 17 (but he has a bit part in that one so who knows if he will promote that). BUT I think I read he may be starting another movie in October - but he always works these things out. Heck, he flew to LA to promote Van Helsing ON HIS DAY OFF off from Broadway and had to be back in NY the next day!!!!

I remember around this time 2 years ago: he was nominated for a Tony, in rehearsals for hosting the Tony Awards, promoting Van Helsing, and doing 8 shows a week on Broadway.

I'm exhausted just typing that. :O

And I also seem to remember...isn't that when he also broke his foot doing the show??

Yep - from April through the close of the show in September he did 8 shows a week with a stress fracture in his foot, never missing a performance. A few things in the show had to be altered, like the heel kick he did during one of the numbers, but he did every show with that fracture - I remember reading he had to have the foot wrapped after every show (and I think before too) and who knows what else.

From Variety:

>>"X-Men 3" opened at about 3,500 fewer playdates than "Da Vinci" as Fox opted to wait in four key markets -- South Korea, launching June 15; Taiwan, June 17; China, July 20; and Japan, Sept. 9.
