I thought this was interesting so I stole this from another board.

Storm, Classic Rogue, and Shadowcat VS Cyclops, Wolverine, and Colossus

Polaris, Emma, and Dazzler VS Havok, Cable, and Cannonball

Rachel, Psylocke, and Mystique VS Iceman, Warpath, and Bishop

Jean (non Phoenix), Husk, and Sage (no telepathy) VS Prof X (powered), Beast, and Nightcrawler

Storm, Rogue and Kitty easily.

Polaris, Emma, and Dazzler VS Havok, Cable, and Cannonball
If uber powered Cable, Cable's team gets it.

Rachel, Psylocke, and Mystique VS Iceman, Warpath, and Bishop
Not familiar with Warpath or Rachael. Iceman omega level style takes this...

Jean (non Phoenix), Husk, and Sage (no telepathy) VS Prof X (powered), Beast, and Nightcrawler

Prof X by himself takes it.

who could actually beat Jean (morrison's run), Storm (whenever), and a crazed Polaris? with jean blocking every telepathic attempt to shut them down, storm severely disrupting the weather beyond control, and polaris using her powers physically (like metal flying around and pulling iron from bodies and whatnot), what can any of the boys do? they'd need cable, prof x, and help from magneto possibly.

why would you take away Sage's telepathy? Thats like taking away Wolverine's claws, Cyclops' optic blasts or Jean's TK

The x-women curse, actually. Authors aren't quite sure what to do with the gals so they just give them more firepower. t:

And as for the match-ups, the gals win them all but the last.

Agreed. We have Ororo, Rogue, and lot's more. These two have always stood out for me though.

Sage doesn't really use her telepathy in combat. Sage's telepathy is actually used to shield her from other telepaths. Most of her Exteme X-Men run shows this.

but you have her up against Profesor X, a telepath. To take away her TP for that battle would be crippling her. She would stand a much better shot against a psychic attack from him than the average mutant. She can also use her TP for mind blasts as well as to control individuals, and that would prove handy agaisnt Beast and Nightcrawler

The X-Women are more powerful than the X-men...except Shadowcat...just about any X-Man can take her out. Even Jubilee had sub atomic level power potential...Kitty turns into a ghost....wow....oh my bad...a NINJA ghost

Jubes has potential but hasnt tapped into any of it. She can easily be taken out by the experienced X-men. And not all the X-woman are all that powerful. Besides Shadowcat, whom you mentioned, Stacy X, Husk, Revanche, Cecila Reyes, Marrow for example

Husk can morph into anything under her skin right?...she'd be a hard one to beat. Revanche had Psylocke's powers...making her a ninja telepath as well...Marrow almost killed Wolverine...but other than fighting ability her bone growing power is pretty useless. Stacy X can make any man do anything she wants...unless he's gay...pretty useless against women too..unless their lesbians...and Cecilia Reyes is basically untouchable when attacking her...that and she can use that force field of hers to attack back

Husk cant morph into anything, but even if she could, most of the men are better fighters than her and can take her on in a hand to hand fight. Forget about a battle with ranged men like Iceman and Cyclops.

Revanche, was a low level empath. She became a telepath after the switch, but her main strength was her ninja skills and fighting abilities which werent tied to her powers. Her TP wasnt on Jean or Emma's level

Cecila Reyes is one of the weakest X-men. Her shield protects her from physical pharm but she still feels pain. She may not get injured if she were blasted by Havok, but it would still hurt like hell and the pain will take her out

Bottom line, the top tier X-women consists of Jean, Storm, Polaris, Rogue, Rachel, Psylocke Emma and to a lesser degree Dazzler. All the rest arent really that much more powerful than their male counterparts

The only reason I think peope are pointing out that the women are more powerful is that theres a higher ratio of powerful females to not so powerful females and thats only bc there are alot fewer female X-men than men. The odds are tipped in their favor. Just think of the original 5. If you just look at those, I could say the females (well female) is way more powerful than the males, but when theres only 1 compared to 4, that fact really isnt all that impressive

I mainly wanted to point out Gambit. NewSun gambit killed JeangreyW/phoenix powers. Then he destroyed all life on earth.You don't get more omegalevel than that.
Out of every man or woman he's the strongest IMO.

But I do agree for the most part that most of the female characters were stronger than the males.
