I read the book but have not seen the movie (will have to wait for video - hubby refuses to see it). A friend of mine who absolutely LOVED the book saw it this weekend. I told her about all the reviews. Here's hers:
>>>Well, my review is don't bother paying money to see it. Acting was horrible. Felt like they were reading the book to me. I think everyone who read the book will go see it and that's enough. Some people in our theatre applauded at the end but we wondered if it was because they were happy it was finally over LOL! Maybe it is BECAUSE we read the book, we didn't find it exciting because we knew the ending? Was way too long and drawn out. When you try to make a movie exactly like the book, it's too long. And books are always better no matter what. I thought that because of the critics that the only award this might win would be cinematography, but I was also disappointed with that. Could have shown more of the Louvre, etc. Really disappointing. Tom Hanks was terrible.<<
