I think I like Jocker's idea more about the Alien home planet. If you think about Aliens on earth, it sounds like Starship troopers

Funny thing is, Roer Ebert gave it a positive review. When I noticed that (I'm not a fan of his reviews at all), It made me think that if it didn't show at overly pretentious and slightly anti-American Cannes, would it have had better reviews now?

then why is X3 getting positive buzz from the European press?
face it, tastes in movies is subjective. every movie has naysayers, sometimes the naysayers out weigh the supporters, it might be the case here.

5 isn't enough. Top 10 is better. Running Man was ok but not a top 20 for me. Also the Matrix Trilogy, Back to the Future. The Hidden.

8 Fresh 39 Rotten = Crap

I can undertand a film getting mixed reviews where it's really a niche film or a genre that not everyone likes but 18% is freaking bad. What the hell is wrong with Ron Howard. He's had some bad luck in his last few films at the box office.

i've said it once and i'll say it again, he's too schmaltzy sometimes. there's nothing wrong with that, cause he can do it brilliantly at times, but putting him in charge of a murder mystery/thriller doesn't work.

he's a bit of a one or two trick pony as a director. i give him points for trying to expand and branch out more and more, but sometimes it just doesn't work.

after people read the reviews of DVC, i think it's gonna flop like the movies before it. Over the Hedge is probably gonna be the number one this week. It doesn't look half bad either. X-men:TLS, POTC2, and Superman Returns are probably gonna be the biggest movies this summer.
