M:I3 performed WAY below expectations at the BO. backlash to Tom Cruise being an ass and having that infamous meltdown.
I feel sorry for himSpeedballLives said:yeah, forgot about that movie. LOL. and MI3 failed, which made me sad. looks like Tom Cruise is losing his appeal.
it made enough for Tom Cruise to get his paycheck...and not much else opening day.CapBeerCino said:Did it cover his expense?
SpeedballLives said:V for vendetta did pretty well too. earned half of it's budget opening weekend, and has earned more than it's budget so far. and for me, it's this years Sin City.

but, the highest grossing movie this year has still be an animated film.
Over the Hedge will be #1. it's almost summer and the kids aren't getting homework, so they can start going to the movies a lot nowadays. family films are released in summer for a reason!! also around x-mas season for a reason.
Yeah, all this talk of SR - $800 million, DVC - $700 million is pure BS. POTC2 will be no1 this yearSpeedballLives said:yep. but my guess is the biggest movie this Summer will be POTC2, not a superhero movie.
So have IXCharlieX said:Ive been meaning to check that out.
you missed my point.Advanced Dark said:Never happen. Over the Hedge won't touch Pirates 2, X3, or Superman. Neither will Cars. Hedge doesn't have the freshness to it like Shrek or the character. Besides we've seen 3 or 4 animated CGI films this year already. X3 is gonna be a relief.

WorldwideSpeedballLives said:Superman Returns- 800 mil? is that worldwide, or in the US.
But i can see some truth in that actually. on some list that came out a few years ago, he was like #3 or 4 of the most recognizable icons in the world.
Superman will be huge, no matter how good or bad it is.
Star wars episode III wasn't the best movie of 2005, but it did amazing.
Yeah, but a lot of people will be looking at the reviews I thinknewwaveboy87 said:some movies are a sure thing.
Superman Returns is one of them. good or bad, Superman is a worldwide icon. ICON! he'll make truckloads of money.
