February 19, 2009 - The console war between PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 rages on, and while you can debate all day about which systems are producing the best games, popular opinion has shown that the 360 is home to the superior controller. Its inclusion of ergonomic trigger buttons is ideal for any FPS title, and the overall feel has been praised since the systems launch. Not wanting to exclude PS3 owners from such a luxury, XCM has announced a new adapter that will allow the crossover conversion of using a Xbox 360 controller on your PS3.

The Cross Battle Adapter is a small, simplistic device that allows you to plug your 360 wired controller into the included USB port, and then plug the adapter itself into your PS3. Fire it up and now you can crank through Killzone 2 even faster with the use of the 360 controllers famed trigger system. Additionally, the adapter also acts as a turbo enabler, letting users add rapid fire to any individual button on the controller simply by flipping a switch. It's like a old NES Advantage, just half a dozen times smaller.

Carrying a MSRP of $39.99, the Cross Battle Adapter is a must for dual console owners who have been waiting for the chance to tear it up on the PS3 with a Xbox 360 controller. For more info, visit the XCM website.

Why would you replace a perfectly good controller with a piece of crap like the 360's?

some people actually prefer the 360 one especially when it comes to FPS and driving games

i actually prefer the xbox360 for shooters because it has indentations on the analog sticks that help your thumb grip them. the PS3's analog sticks are just rounded off, plus my thumbs tend to hit each other since the sticks are right beside each other...

...so i actually might be getting this.

Microsoft has definetely improved up their controller. The Xbox controllers (both original and S-type) sucked hardcore and that was pretty much the sole reason why I downright refused to buy their console. But with the Xbox 360, their controller is very comfortable this time around.

However, I've been using the PlayStation styled controller since 1996, so my preference is obviously the DualShock 3 over the Xbox 360 controller. And the Xbox controllers' D-pad still sucks, even though that really isn't Microsoft's fault; Sony and Nintendo patented pretty much the only two designs that can be any good.

I'm definately getting that, i was going to sell my PS3 GTA4 on ebay because the PS3 controller for GTA4 sucks

I prefer PS3's controllers, although this could be handy for letting guests use their own arcade sticks in fighting games when they come over.

The Ps3 Controller is not bad i mean it fits but the Xbox Controller fits even better :D

i prefer the ps3 controllers. they fit my hands perfectly.

The 360 controller is far superior than the PS3's pad in just about every way with the exception being the d-pad(altho, i dont think the d-pad is that much better but enough ppl say otherwise). The analog sticks are in horrible positions compared to the 360's. I think thats the main reason why i play my 360 more than my PS3. I dont think the DS3 is bad, but compared to the 360's pad, it doesnt come close. Iv been thinking about getting an adapter like this one so i could play Killzone 2 with a controller thats better for FPS's. It might be time to actually get one of these as i have still yet to play through Killzone.

It's completely personal choice, because I disagree with you. For me, the ps3 just works way better in my hands, and i like the shoulder buttons way better as well. The d-pad is also way better on the ps3 for me, I can't even navigate menus with the 360 it's so clunky. lol

Maybe, i own both consoles tho and am completely comfortable with both controllers and the PS3's layout just isnt as, smooth, i guess, i dont know how to really explain it. The analog sticks are what really bring the PS3's pad down, not only are they convex but they just aren't in very good positions for extended gameplay. The triggers also aren't as effective due to the fact they slope inward instead of outward. Still, the DS3 is a great controller, i love its weight and i love the size of it i just think the analog sticks are terrible, especially for FPS's, if they swapped the left stick and the d-pad, that would be a perfect controller. But thats not gonna stop me from putting an ungodly amount of time in with Uncharted: Among Thieves.

Again man, it's personal choice. I'd much rather play an FPS with the PS3 controller than the 360 one. And I've used both plenty of times.

I think it has more to do with an allegiance to one console or the other, but ur prob right.

QFT

The Xbox 360 controller is too fat, the left anolog is in an awkward position in relation to the other side for the majority of games & the d-pad is useless..

The only thing I like about the 360 controller is the triggers on the back of the controller.. but when the PS3 came along they improved that in their controllers by moving the R2 button towards the back of the controller making them more handy for FPS games & racing games.

PS3 controller is superior IMO

I <3 the concave analog sticks and the triggers on the 360.
I'm also really comfortable with the analog stick placement on the 360.

The PS3 obviously has a better D-pad.

Yeah the ps3 controller does have a better D-pad but the analogs make my thumbs cramped whenever i play Resistance 2 or Killzone 2 but when i play with the 360 controller and i am playing halo or cod4 the controller on the 360 is perfect and is quite comfortable i mean as soon as you hold a 360 controler both analog sticks are right there and the trigger feels better on the 360. The only thing that i hate about the 360controller is the LB and the RB buttons they just don't feel right i love the R1 and L1 triggers on the Ps3 controller

I think that's how a lot of people feel.
The triggers are better on the 360, the R1/L1/RB/LB are better on the PS3, The sticks are better on the 360, the D-pad is better on the PS3 and they can give or take the other buttons.

Yea, i deff think its an allegiance thing.

It's not always an allegiance thing. I remember you thinking that the 360 controller was as good or better for fighters than the PS3 controller, but the majority of people feel otherwise. It's probably the same way here, the majority of people think the 360 controller is better for shooters, but it's not like a set in stone fact
