Xenoblade Chronicles X

Xenoblade Chronicles X Details Its Exploration System. February 19, 2015 . 3:35am

As a member of BLADE, you’ll have plenty of exploring to do in Xenoblade Chronicles X. Here’s how it works.

As a member of BLADE, you’ll have plenty of exploring to do in Xenoblade Chronicles X. The game’s official website shares information on how you’ll do just that, using the Frontier Net exploration system on your Wii U GamePad.

In Xenoblade Chronicles X, mankind is new to Planet Mira, so they to seek out resources in order to survive, while also looking for pods that contain cryogenically-frozen humans to add to the population.

The Frontier Net system is used by BLADE to help in the exploration of Mira’s various regions, where members will Data Probe from different areas to gather information and resources.

Data-probing is where you go around looking for “Frontier Net Spots” to dig for data, and they come with all kinds of benefits. Sometimes, you’ll find rare minerals like the all-purpose “Miranium” or “Rare Resources,” and other times, you’ll find treasure chests by completing quests, where you can get upgrades for the Data Probes.

By setting Data Probes, you can get all kinds of different effects and benefits. Most of this is done using the Wii U GamePad. Here’s a look at the different Data Probes there are:

Mining Probe: Increases production and the amount of “Miranium” you can gather.

Research Probe: If you discover any secret areas or places with splendid views near one of these, you’ll acquire profits from sightseeing.

Battle Probe: You’ll gain various beneficial effects in battle, while fighting in an area with this Probe.

Storage Probe: Increase the max number of Miranium that can be stored.

Power-up Probe: Enhances the main functions of adjacent Data Probes.

Copy Probe: Copies the functions of adjacent Data Probes.

Once a Data Probe is set, it will be marked on the “Segment Map” on the Wii U GamePad. Segments represent different areas shown as hexagons on the map. Here are some of the icons that are used for the Segment Maps:

This indicates that there’s a Frontier Net Spot in the Segment.

This one looks similar, but it means that a Data Probe has been installed.

You can “Skip Travel” to Segments with this icon, by using the Wii U GamePad to instantly teleport to the area.

These appear when there’s no information behind the specific Segment.
Additionally, each Segment can have markers, that are often used as indicators for missions and objectives.
An indication of an exceptionally powerful monster, also known as an “Overed”.

This icon means that there’s a treasure chest, here.

These show up when the objective of a normal quest is in the Segment.

Similar to the normal quest, except these are for bonding quests.

These show up when an objective is met.

Players won’t have access to the mecha-weapons right away, so traveling and exploring might be a little tough at first; however, they’ll be able to use the “Hopper Camera” to get a good view of what’s ahead.

Being able to get a better view of the area can be quite helpful should you ever get lost in the vast regions of Mira. You can also use the Hopper Camera to find some routes or secret areas you may have not noticed before as well.

If the Hopper Cam isn’t enough, or you’re just not the best when it comes to navigating, the “Navigation Ball” will help guide you to your objective area, and you can use them as many times as you want.

Finally, here’s a look at Ru, one of the residents of Mira.

Ru is from an indigenous race that has been on Planet Mira since before the Nopon or any other race. He makes a living as an inventor and sells off his crafts and inventions to others. He’s a curious character that oddly gets along quite well with humans, and is kind of a history buff.

Xenoblade Chronicles X will release in Japan on April 29th and later this year in North America and Europe for the Wii U.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Has An Auto-Run Feature, But Director Says To Use It Sparingly. February 23, 2015 . 10:32am

Director Koh Kojima touches upon the conflict that arises when creating a vast world and trying to streamline exploration.

Xenoblade Chronicles X
has a number of features that make it easier and more convenient to explore its large world. One of these is an auto-run feature, although the developers don’t necessarily want you to lean on it too heavily.

“The Hopper Camera and Navigation Ball seem quite popular,” the game’s director, Koh Kojima, tweeted today. “To tell the truth, there’s also an auto-run feature for moving in a straight line, and there’s the fast travel, too, of course.”

“However,” he continued, “as the developer, we feel conflicted because we’d like users to refrain from using them too much and take their time traversing and enjoying the landscape and enemy placement.”

“It’s quite the conundrum,” Kojima concluded.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is scheduled for release on April 29th in Japan.

Food for thought:
Xenoblade Chronicles X isn’t the only Nintendo game attempting to streamline the way you traverse long distances. Their other open world game, the new Legend of Zelda for Wii U, has a feature whereby your horse automatically avoids trees and other obstacles in the environment without you having to constantly steer it.

In Xenoblade Chronicles X, Weather Changes Affect Battles. February 26, 2015 . 2:07am

Planet Mira in Xenoblade Chronicles X might have different creatures and landscapes compared to Earth, but their weather and climate is actually pretty similar to ours.

Xenoblade Chronicles X’s Planet Mira might have different creatures and landscapes compared to Earth, but their weather and climate is actually pretty similar to ours. The official website updates us with the latest details on the upcoming Wii U title.

[YT]FatqK70ONd8[/YT]

The above video shares a look at all the different times of day and night you’ll see in the lands of Planet Mira, along with some of its atmospheric differences. The weather ranges from fair, cloudy, rainy, thunderstorms, to even auroras and rainbows. Some regions have their own characteristics with heat waves and sandstorms.

On Twitter, director Koh Kojima writes, “The idea of having a different monsters appear in the fields at day and night was already a feature in Xenoblade Chronicles. In Xenoblade Chronicles X, we have also made it so that weather affects the battles.”

“It isn’t just a visual effect,” Kojima clarified, “but is fully featured in battle tactics. Tuning the weather change cycle was fairly hard work, though…”

By visiting a BLADE camp, you’ll get to check a Rest Spot, which is used to change the time of the day by resting.

Lao:

Lao is one of the team leaders of the private military organization, BLADE. His combat ability and sense of judgment is said to have been well-noticed by Elma.
Contrary to his looks, speech, and overall cool image, he also has a bit of a sensitive side, but he’s a passionate guy deep down to his heart. Lao has been friends with Doug since their days in the United States Army.

Doug:

Doug is a member of the private military organization BLADE. He excels at all military skills, but is the most effective when it comes to piloting Dolls. Contrary to his stern looks, he’s kind of easy to make fun of, and he often gets teased by Lyn whenever he messes up during Doll tests.

Back on Earth, he served under Elma in the Doll Squad, a government spec-ops vehicular instructor corps. He has been friends with Lao since their days in the United States Army.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Arts Skill System Allows For All Kinds Of Comb. March 6, 2015 . 5:54am

In Monolith Soft’s latest presentation for Xenoblade Chronicles X, the developers shared more on the game’s battle system, starting with the “Arts” abilities.

In Monolith Soft’s latest presentation for Xenoblade Chronicles X, the developers shared more on the game’s battle system, starting with the “Arts” abilities, which range from doing powerful attacks to supporting allies.

The combat in Xenoblade Chronicles X consists of close-ranged attacks using melee weapons like knives and swords, and ranged-attacks using guns. There are also special skills called Arts that you can use in combat for both ranged and melee.

Arts consist of various types. The attacking Arts are split between Fighting Arts and Shooting Arts. The Support Arts help allies with different abilities such as heals and buffs, while Weakening Arts are used to do different effects like stun enemies.

There are various Arts you can set, and it’s up to you and your playstyle as far as what you’d like to set; however, keep in mind that Arts all have their own delay timers, so after using one, you’ll need to use other Arts or auto-attack while waiting. Knowing how to balance the two will be key to winning fights.

During combat, the characters will communicate amongst each other. This is called the “Soul Voice” system, which will have party members say different things that will help out in battle.

For example, they might sometimes recommend you to use certain Arts, which will make them glow in your UI, and using them will have extra bonuses, such as gaining power and an additional healing effect.

Last edited:

You can also send your own Soul Voice commands by timing a command, and doing so will allow your other party members to do the same for extra benefits. There’s a variety of Soul Voices and their effects, which can also be set to your liking.

XenobladeX_17_thumb.jpg

Using different abilities with the Arts and Soul Voice system may sound simple, but there’s actually a lot more to it. There are specific abilities that can be combined for extra damage, or to temporarily stun enemies, depending on the type of combo you go for. For example, you can use certain Arts that stagger enemies, then follow up with a stunning Arts attack for a combo finisher.

Positioning also matters, as you can attack from behind or from the flank can affect your damage. Terrain also has an effect on how you damage enemies, as you can attack from lower or higher grounds, which affects accuracy and critical rate. There are certain Arts that do more damage depending on your placement as well.

Xenoblade Chronicles X will release in Japan on April 29, 2015 for Wii U. The game will also release in North America and Europe later this year.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Details Advanced Techniques And How To Handle Monsters. March 6, 2015 . 6:22am

Here are details on the advanced battle techniques in Xenoblade Chronicles X, and how to handle monsters.

Now that we know the basics of Xenoblade Chronicles X from details in our earlier report, here are details on the advanced battle techniques, and how to handle monsters.

20150306_070101_thumb.png

As shown in the previous report, combat mainly consists of auto-attacks using close and long-ranged attacks, along with Arts abilities. Arts are more powerful and sound a lot more appealing to use, but auto-attacks actually have their own benefits, and can be just as important.

In addition to using auto-attacks while you wait for the recast timer of an Art, you can wait even longer until you use it again for a “Double Recast” bar to fill up, which makes it even more powerful upon the next use.

Auto-attacks might be weaker, but as Elma said in Monolith’s presentation, one can think of them as a way of doing a less damage for a short period of time, so you can unleash a powerful attack afterwards. Performing auto-attacks also fills up a “Tension” meter, which can be used to revive fallen allies once it fills up, so it’ll be important to keep up your auto-attacks.

almost done

Next up, is the “Overclock Gear,” a system that lets you unleash powerful attacks, but it’s something you’ll get later on in the game. Once it’s activated, you’ll get to continuously pull off Arts, one after the other, as it vastly speeds up the delay, with faster recasts. By successively using several Fighting or Shooting Arts in a row, a number counter will go up with the hits, resulting in massive damage.

Additionally, while using the Overclock Gear, it’ll make it possible to charge an Art to a “Triple Recast,” which makes it even more powerful than the Double Recast. Additionally, other party members can go into their own Overclock Gear, allowing you to do some devastating damage.

Speaking of doing high damage, Xenoblade Chronicles X also has a “part-breaking” feature, that will allow you to break pieces off monsters, similar to what you have in Monster Hunter-style games.

You can break parts off enemies to disable them from using that particular body part or weapon. Once a part is destroyed, it will give you a higher chance of acquiring special items as well.

Monsters have symbols above them that indicate how they will aggro. Some of them do so via sight, while others catch wind of you through sound. Some monsters also team up, so if you hit any of their nearby buddies, the others will join in the fight. Some enemies will attack in hordes, so you’ll need to be careful when there are many bunched up together.

There are also exceptionally powerful monsters roaming around, so if you come across them when you’re at a lower level, it’ll be best to avoid them. Tatsu put it best when he said “running away is one of the most important tactics in Mira!”

Xenoblade Chronicles X will release in Japan on April 29, 2015 for Wii U. The game will also release in North America and Europe later this year.

Learn About Xenoblade Chronicles X’s Class System, Weapons, And All Kinds Of Armor. March 6, 2015 . 7:05am

In Xenoblade Chronicles X, you’ll get most of your equipment at the Shopping District in New Los Angeles.

During Monolith Soft’s latest livestream for Xenoblade Chronicles X, we got a look at the game’s basic battle system and Arts, along with some advanced battle techniques. We also saw more details on the game’s class system, and a closer look at all kinds of weapons and armor.

In Xenoblade Chronicles X, you’ll get most of your equipment at the Shopping District in New Los Angeles. While some may look the same, they’ll often vary in effects and attributes, so you’ll want to keep a close eye on what you purchase
.

Weapons are split between Fighting and Shooting types. Fighting weapons include knives, swords, shields, and javelins. Shooting weapons have rifles, guns, and launchers.

As far as armor goes, there are parts for: head, body, left arm, right arm, and legs.

Equipment comes in different sets and series. The above screenshots show just a small example of the variety there is to gear up with.

There are different companies that develop various equipment, and you might find yourself choosing certain brands over others, which helps in leveling up the manufacturing companies, as you purchase and use their products.

nearly done

As the companies can level up, it results in the production of new and better equipment from their lines.

Equipment also have slots, which you can use to input Devices to add different power-ups and effects to the gear.

You can also get equipment from monsters.. There are some monsters that drop exceptionally good equipment, so it sounds like it’ll be worth farming certain beasts to get that special piece of armor or weapon.

XenobladeX_63_thumb.jpg

While finding rare and powerful equipment can be beneficial, you’ll need to keep your “Inner Level” in check, as equipment has level restriction, which won’t allow you to use them until you meet the right Inner Level requirements. Characters won’t only level by fighting, but also from doing different things like finding treasure or exploring.

XenobladeX_65_thumb.jpg

Again, one of the most important factors that will play a role in your fighting style, is the class system. All characters start out as a Drifter class, and after getting the basic Arts, they’ll get to choose between Assault, Command, and Forcer classes.

Each class has its own Arts and usable equipment, but in the end, it will be up to your preferred playstyle. There are various advanced classes as well. For example, the Assault class is shown branching into “Samurai Gun” and “Shield Battler”.

The Samurai Gun class can also go into its final form of “General Sword”. Classes will have their own exclusive Arts as well, so they’ll be worth looking into as you level your characters.

Now that we know there are class systems and powerful weapons out there, it might sound like you could take on Planet Mira on your own, but your allies will be just as important to have around in order to survive.

Elma and Lyn aren’t the only ones who’ll join your party–there are all kinds of characters from NLA and BLADE that will be more than willing to help you out in battle. Similar to Xenoblade Chronicles, you’ll also get to play as the other party members in combat.

Finally, the livestream ended with the members of BLADE encountering a new race of enemies, and they control giant laser-shooting mecha. They also can’t stand the sight of humans. In order to defeat them, BLADE will need to bring out their mecha weapons, the Dolls… which will be featured in the next livestream for the game.

Looking at the stream, there is some pretty insane levels of customization for armor and weapons. From cools looking stuff to the obviously... japanese choices. God help me if you can customize your mech like that...
yeah there was in one of the earlier stream's with the details most of the creatures you kill can be used for your armor & weapons for your mech (AKA your Dolls ) but there will be further info o the dolls.

As for a short summery / break of this video

Basic CombatFind your target, draw your blade, and the begin the battle. For basic combat, you have weapons like swords and knives for close combat, and rifles for long range combat. Smart switching between weapon types coupled with good timing will result in the battle proceeding automatically.
Arts
Your Arts (special abilities) are lined up at the bottom of the screen, that can be freely organized to your liking. In addition to “Fighting Arts” and “Shooting Arts,” there are also “Recovery Arts” to support your allies and “Weakening Arts” to inflict ailments on enemies. Arts require a cooldown period before they can be recast.
Soul Voice
You’ll talk with your allies as you fight. Your allies will call out to you, resulting in an Art getting lit up, indicating which should be cast next. “Soul Voice” is then triggered by casting that Art and responding to them in kind, resulting in various potential effects such as buffed Arts. The party’s HP is also healed at this stage.
Sometimes a circle will appear in the center of the screen during battle. If you quickly press the B button, the player can essentially trigger Soul Voice themselves in reverse order.
Soul Voice types can be manually set outside battle, & there are various types of Soul Voices with a number of effects.

Arts Combos

Attack Arts + Attack Arts - Combining Attack Arts give them a greater effect. Stringing either a Fighting Art or a Shooting Art after an Attack Art, for instance, can result in increased damage, making it important to memorize which combos are possible to pull off.
Collapse + Tumble -
If after using an Art the enemy collapses and players then proceed to use another Art with a tumble effect, they can make the enemy fall onto the ground. Not only will this seal off their attacks, but they’ll take 1.5 times damage during this state.

Positioning

Attacking an enemy from certain positions, such as their backside or from higher or lower terrain, can influence accuracy and critical hit chances, making them potentially go up. This also applies to Arts, whereby positioning can bolster their effectiveness.
Part Destruction
Enemies will have different parts you can target and attack. If you manage to destroy that part, you’ll get a reward that normally can not be obtained.
Double Recast
After using an Art, you’ll need to wait before it can be used again. Howvever, if you continue attacking with auto-attack following the cast, the Art will refill and enable a Double Recast, which has a greater effect than regular Arts.
TP: Tension
As you auto-attack, your Tension will raise. If your Tension is accumulated enough when an ally falls, you’ll be able to revive them.
Overclocking Gear
A big battle element. When you activate your Overclocking Gear, your recast time is greatly shortened, so you can perform Arts one after the other. Doing so will also let you achieve a “Triple Recast,” which is even stronger than a Double Recast. When you trigger your Overclocking Gear at the same time as your allies, the effects are greater. The Overclocking Gear will not be available from the beginning of the game.
Enemy Icon
Icons that appear on screen will indicate whether an enemy, for instance, will trigger fights by sight or by sound or even if they’re prone to intervening and joining the battle in an ongoing fight.
Equipment
Each weapon And also the armor offers its own attributes and enhancements. You can equip one close range and shooting weapon each. Close range weapons consist of knives, swords, shields, and javelins, while shooting weapons consist of rifles, guns, launchers, and such. As for armor, you’ll be able to equip to your head, torso, right arm, left arm, and legs.
Various enterprises within the Arms Company develops equipment, with each enterprise producing goods that have strengths and weaknesses in different areas. Utilizing different equipment out on the field is subsequently used as a form of advertisement in the game. If a commercial effect is in place, that means players will have an enterprise’s official support, which in turn is connected to the production of new equipment. Basically, battling more and more with a particular brand will help the corresponding enterprise grow. New enterprises will also appear over time, widening the scope of potential equipment to use.
Some equipment also have slots, which can be filled with things like devices that can provide buffs and add special abilities to them. In addition to shops, equipment can also be procured sometimes by defeating enemies, with some weapons having especially wild weapon drops.
Growth Elements
Your Inner Level & Class Rank represent your character’s strength. If you have a low Inner Level, high tier equipment can’t be equipped. Your Inner Level rises not only through combat, but also by discovering treasure boxes on the field, as well as unexplored locations.
Your class makes up your battle style. An initial class is used to build up proficiency, with players eventually able to change out into the next class. Class types affect what Arts can be learned, as well as what weapons and abilities a character is proficient in. The higher up the class ladder you go, the more specialized arts and abilities you’ll pick up as you refine your overall combat style.
Allies
Blade members can team up together for a party of up to four made up of people living in New Los Angeles.

I just put the more details from Siliconera since they always have extra info

Oh god, I don't need another Monter Hunter relapse...

Oh god, I don't need another Monter Hunter relapse...

Don't worry it won't be like monster hunter there will be similarity's. but it'll be different. Besides there's alien enemies to fight. well it's that or steal tech from the enemy which people actually do in wars or trying to survive some else trying to wipe them out any way. this just the R&D part of this Game since it's A RPG .

Ok I better to put up for for Marvel heroes 2015

Xenoblade Chronicles X Will Have Different Battle Dialogue Depending On Your Avatar. March 10, 2015 . 2:01pm

Director Koh Kojima takes to Twitter to post another little tidbit of info on the game’s battle system.

Last Friday, Monolith Soft showed off Xenoblade Chronicles X’s battle system. This week, director Koh Kojima took to Twitter to post another little tidbit of info as a follow-up to the battle system presentation.

The tweet is to do with the game’s “Soul Voice” system, which you can read all about here. The gist of it is that, during battles, your party members will ask you to perform certain attacks in coordination with them, and if you do so, you’ll get certain bonuses such as additional healing of an increase in power. Conversely, you can issue Soul Voice commands to your teammates and ask them to do the same.

“Soul Voice, which was expensively presented in the battle compilation video, allows you to enjoy a lively battles, building upon Xenoblade Chronicles,” Kojima tweeted. “It was hard work thinking up personalized lines for the 20 possible avatar voices and the set sub-characters—not to mention the huge amount of voice-recording it led to.”

“Yes,” Kojima added,” depending on the avatar, the Soul Voice dialogue changes.”

Kojima is referring to the fact that Xenoblade Chronicles X has an extensive avatar customization system, and that you’ll get to select from a broad range of voices while creating your avatar as well. You can view some of the character customization options in this video.

Xenoblade Chronicles X will be released in Japan on April 29th. North America and Europe will see the game sometime later this year.
