yup, this is my second thread devoted to speculating the pseudo-tk we've all come to love and loath

anyone noticed how Gabriel looks at the specials' abilities as something bad?

what if we're all wrong and the writers have succesfully mislead us into believing he "steals" powers?

what if he thinks he's actually "fixing" these people? think about it: Charlie had a tumor, Mr Bennet is worried about Claire's health... what if he's actually trying to "cure" these people of some possible tumor or grownth that come naturally with their new powers?

he somehow figured how to emulate Brian's power and now he's using that stolen power as a tool in his crusade to cure them

the guy is insane after all

I don't think he looks at them as bad at all. He looks at them as being somewhat pathetic for not wanting to use their powers to be better than everyone else, which is what he wants to be. He thinks they're *****es, more or less. Not bad.

read again, I didn't say he thinks they're "bad", maybe he thinks they are sick and he wants to fix them, after all, isn't that what he does with watches?

remember, Charlie had a brain cloth, and like I said, Mr Bennet was concerned for Claire's well being

maybe some of these people who develop powers also develop tumors that might endanger their lives and Gabriel thinks he's helping out

I think this theory holds no water. Where was it ever suggested he wanted to "help" these people? He's just taking their brains by brute force, with no indication he thinks or believes anyone other than himself will benefit from what he's doing.

by "bad" I didn't mean "evil"

so far, the show has done great in staying away from the usual "good" and "evil" concepts, everyone has a motivation to do what they do, even when the means or ends are not the most honorable, be it Nathan, Mr Bennet, Jessica, Micah or even Sylar

I didn't suggest you meant evil. by bad you meant bad like cancer, not like satan. and I'm telling you, there's nothing that has been shown that would suggest he gives a **** about the people he kills, even in a crazy "caring" kind of way.

He's selfish. He wants what they have, because he thinks he's better than the "insignificant" people of the world and he's going to PROVE it. He looks at the people with powers they don't want as pathetic, not as people worth "helping."

I think Sylar means by fixing is really killing them and taking their power.

Yeah, I had the same fixing people theory when he killed the guy and said he was broken. Charlie has the aneurysm or whatever, and when hiro jumped to the future Isaac had been killed too and hes a heroine addict. It could be somehting like that. Maybe he actually thinks hes doing them a favor and such.
