Bruce struggled with this in Batman Begins. "I'm using this Monster to help other people, like my father did." "For Thomas Wayne, helping others wasn't about proving anything to anyone- himself included."

Bane was imprisoned for crimes commited by his father.

Talia often struggles with this in the comics.

Alberto Falcone has a lot of issues with his father. I suspect that if they take the route of portraying Selina as Falcone's daughter, she would tie into this as well.
