WWE posted up a Youtube video with a little feature on their top 5 future dream opponents for John Cena. The list played out as:

1. Samoa Joe
2. Shinsuke Nakamura
3. Finn Balor
4. Shane McMahon
5. The Undertaker

#1 in particular has been a dream match of mine for years. They even got into the story of them both training together at the start of their respective careers.

Shane :huh::huh::huh:

So "Sanity" is:

a faction of Nikki Storm, Alexander Wolfe, Skylar Fulton and Eric Young

Interesting way to see Eric Young brought in. Insanity could either be the next big stable or they could go the way of the FCW/NXT era Ascension, if the ball is dropped.

S - Sawyer
A - Alexander
N - Nikki
I - ?
T - ?
Y - Young

Thanks for the spoilers bud.

Spoiler tag that ****.

-Undertaker vs. Cena at WM, especially if it's Taker's retirement match, is almost too perfect.

-Cena vs. Joe could be entertaining in how physical and brutal it might get.

-Cena vs. Nakamura could be entertaining given their extreme contrast in styles (no pun intended) and they're two of the most charismatic guys in the company right now.

-Cena vs Balor-Eh that ones doesn't seem as interesting to me honestly (I cannot think of an immediate hook like I can with the others). But it still could maybe be entertaining enough.

-Cena vs. Shane-What? No just no.

I'm still pinching myself.

Big Show, who is a noted gamer in the WWE finally debuts on UpUpDownDown:

NXT spoilers through October 12th:

September 21st Episode:

* Samoa Joe kicks us off with a promo stating that NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura has a ton of injuries from his attack. Joe says Nakamura will be out 6-12 weeks, but he's not patient. He wants Nakamura or to have the title vacated. NXT General Manager William Regal comes out and says Joe is right, but he hasn't heard from Nakamura, so he'll clean up Joe's mess in time. Joe goes face to face with Regal and says if he doesn't get what he wants, the entire roster will look like Nakamura

* Austin Aries defeated Oney Lorcan in a great match. Aries cuts a promo saying he'd call out Hideo Itami but Hideo is a coward and he knows he won't show up. Hideo comes out but Aries retreats

* Billie Kay defeated Aliyah

* Cedric Alexander defeated Andrade "Cien" Almas in a fantastic match. The crowd popped big for Cedric. Cedric wins when he catches Andrade going for the running knees and hits the Lumbar Check. Andrade teases a turn after the match, but hugs Cedric and raises his hand

September 28th Episode:

* William Regal comes out to announce the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The finals will be at Takeover: Toronto

* Tye Dillinger defeated Angelo Dawkins with the TyeBreaker. After the match, Bobby Roode interrupts and says the reason he came to NXT was to win the Dusty Classic, and he needs the perfect partner. Roode says them winning would be Perfectly Glorious. Tye shakes his hand and accepts

* The Ealy Brothers vs. NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival never happens as Samoa Joe comes out. He walks past the Revival and kills the Ealy Brothers. Revival walks away. Joe says the beatings will continue until Regal either gives him Shinsuke or gives him his NXT Title

* Ember Moon defeated Mandy Rose in a quick match

* The Authors of Pain defeated two local competitors. Paul Ellering finally speaks and says pain is coming and right now, that's all we need to know

* NXT Women's Champion Asuka taps out Liv Morgan in a quick squash with an armbar. Asuka is interviewed after the match and says no one is ready for her

* Hideo Itami defeated Lince Dorado in a good match. After the match, Austin Aries comes out of the crowd and attacks Itami, but flees when Itami turns the tables

October 5th Episode:

* The Authors of Pain defeated The Bollywood Boyz in a first round match of the Dusty Classic

* Rich Swann defeated Patrick Clark in a fun match. Patrick has new, very flamboyant gimmick and outfit -- puffy shirt, suit coat, glitter headband, whole nine yards. Swann wins with a cartwheel into a moonsault

* Peyton Royce defeated Danielle Kamella. Peyton has new gear and was accompanied to the ring by Billie Kay, but still does the flower entrance. This was an okay match, but nothing special. Peyton wins with a Perfectplex out of nowhere

* Dan Matha comes out for a match but Samoa Joe comes out and kills him. He cuts a promo -- "tick, tock, who will be the next to get his head rocked?" Refers to Matha as Regal's golden boy blue chipper. Repeats his ultimatum for Regal and tells him he has a week or he'll escalate things

* NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival defeated Cedric Alexander and Andrade "Cien" Almas in a first round Dusty Classic match. Great match. Revival pins Cedric with the Shatter Machine. Andrade attacks Cedric after the match and destroys him

October 12th Episode:

* SAnitY defeated Bobby Roode and Tye Dillinger in a first round Dusty Classic match. Roode walked out on Tye as soon as the beating began. SAnitY is Alexander Wolfe & Sawyer Fulton, accompanied by a masked man/woman. The female attacks Tye and reveals herself as Nikki Storm, and the masked leader is Eric Young

* Billie Kay defeated Liv Morgan after Peyton grabbed Liv's leg for the distraction

* TM-61 defeated Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss in a first round Dusty Classic match. Fun match

* Blake vs. Murphy gets underway and was fun for what it was, then Samoa Joe runs in and murders both guys. He calls for Regal saying time is up. NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura's music hits and he comes out in a neck brace. He takes of the brace and charges the ring. A wild brawl ensues that ends with Shinsuke hitting the Kinshasa on a security guy, getting jumped by Joe again, but then brawling back to the ring, where Nakamura hits Joe with a Kinshasa to end the show

The season 3 premiere of Lucha Underground did 227,000 viewers on its first run, by far the biggest viewership for a single episode (previous high was 163,000). Unfortunately, the replay only scored 7,000 for a total of 234,000. That actually ties the highest total for the first run+replay ever.

The second episode didn't do quite as well, likely because of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic finals. The first run did 99,000 but the replay jumped up to 55,000 for a total of 154,000.

Meanwhile, Impact did 366,000 live viewers, up from 337,000 last week. This is the second highest number in the 9 weeks since jumping to Thursdays. This is a good sign, because Thursday Night Football has started up and it didn't destroy Impact's numbers like Monday Night Football did to Raw.

Johhny Drama is in the wrestling thread? What year is this?

So, my thoughts on this week's NXT and CWC Finals-

- I still don't like the idea of the X being thrown up for kayfabe injuries but apart from that the injury and succeeding response was well choreographed. Samoa Joe coming back out again was actually a legit jump scare for me.

- Liv Morgan needs a LOT of work on the mike. Her in ring work is... fine I guess.

- Authors of Pain destroyed some jobbers and looked damn good doing it though I was kinda disappointed there was no story progression.
PS: I marked out when I realised Akom may actually be of Indian origin since he was shouting in Punjabi.

- Hideo Itami looks really good and has regained his momentum since coming back and if they can get some of the CWC talent that didn't sign for the Cruiserweight division like Gulak and Sean Maluta I could actually see them introducing a midcard belt which he and maybe Tye Dilinger can compete for.

- I honestly don't see how they can keep up Roode's heel persona especially if he keeps playing to the crowd. And the elevated DDT/ Edgecution is a MUCH better finisher than the Pump Handle Slam. No Way Jose is very good in the ring too and I hope they do him justice.

-Corey Graves's commentary:ilv:

- I'm confused- they're really pushing this Revival vs DIY thing. Are they going to put in double duty or will they delay Ciampa and Gargano's elevation by a few months when they can win it for a couple of months before dropping it to the Authors of Pain?

I don't need many words for the next bit...

CWC Finals: HOLY SHIIIT!

I haven't watched NXT in quite a while (haven't had the network since the spring). Did they address who attacked Hideo Itami before his injury?

No. It is the longest running mystery in NXT.

I don't think they will ever reveal who attacked him.

It will be like the Ninjas kidnapping Samoa Joe or who pied Kevin Owens after the food fight :cwink:

I remember they implied that it was Owens, but he has long since moved on from NXT.

I think it should be revealed that James Ellsworth is the one who pied Owens.

Pie? Only one WWE superstar, who has millions and millions of fans, has pie as his MO.

he doesn't even have pie anymore. Hell, I don't recall the last time he used the phrase "poontang pie"

So apparently, the WWE markets their product in China as like "kung fu movies" and that seems to go over pretty well in China.

The WWE needs to sign Ho Ho Lun from the Cruiserweight Classic, if not for their division, then for NXT, especially when the WWE needs a fluent Chinese speaker (which he is) to communicate between the trainers and the 8 Chinese talents that they just signed. Matt Bloom is a fluent Japanese speaker, but also we see Hideo Itami, Asuka and Shinsuke Nakamura at least trying to speak English.

- As noted, Emma was scheduled to return to the road for WWE at next week's RAW and red brand live events but she returned earlier than expected at Friday's live event in Louisville, Kentucky. She acted as the special referee as Sasha Banks, Bayley and Alicia Fox defeated WWE Women's Champion Charlotte, Dana Brooke and Nia Jax. Emma has been out of action since May with a back injury. Below is a photo of her in Louisville:

I kind of figured that Emma and Luke Harper were coming back soon when the WWE released a video of free agents available for Raw and Smackdown Live, which included the Rock and Taker, both of whom should never be considered free agents but "special attractions who appear on Monday Night Raw at least once a year."
