Clash Of Champions 2016 Review:
Fox Vs. Jax
Alicia Fox had no choice of winning, but they could've at least made this a 10 minute match.
RAW...Tag...Team...Titles
Started off really good with The Club dismantling the jokers only for The New Day to cheat just so they could have the belts for 400 days. I'm really hoping an immediate rematch tomorrow so this played out tag team title reign can finally end.
Cruiserweight Championship
I like how Kendrick went from high flyer to submission specialist. I wonder if Chris Kanyon's spirit visited both men in their dreams? They were innovative using a lot of cool moves like Perkins' Pendulum Boston Crab! It was crisp, solid, and definitely match of the night. I should've just stopped watching after this because I knew this wasn't going to be topped. Love Perkins Mega Man entrance, but his "Devastate" song is sorely missed. Bittersweet.
Cesaro Vs. Sheamus Part 97
I'm glad I missed out on watching this series so I could enjoy this final match more. It was actually going really good (including Cesaro doing the Swiss One Nine) until they gave a BS finish so they could milk an 8th match out of this. I'm not surprised though. WCW did the same thing. WWE also needs to ban suicide dives. Cesaro almost ended his career tonight by doing such a careless move!
Jericho Vs. Zayn
I took a piss break here since Sami doesn't have an interesting personality. I'm glad Jericho put his foot down after the Fandango debacle when it comes to the finish. He doesn't have to put over everybody.
Women's Championship
Charlotte won the triple threat match at Wrestlemania so I'm glad she really repeated history. She was aggressive tonight. This could've been better than that match in Dallas, but not enough Bayley in the ring and they booked an anti-climatic finish.
United States Title
This match was what I expected. I would've been fine with a disqualification finish, but I think officials wanted to throw Roman a bone since he couldn't cut it as a babyface world champion. That awkward moment when you realize The Powerhouse is a bigger heel than the evil foreigner...
World Heavyweight Championship
Good match with the expected schmoz finish. I guess Jericho did the run-in since Helmsley wasn't feeling it tonight. This is the match that needed to end with the DQ since it would've protected both men instead of making The Man look like The Chump. Owens channeling DX was great though!
Not a terrible PPV. Just meh. Remember when PPVs used to be special?
