You People (Jonah Hill, Eddie Murphy)

It had some good moments like the dinner scene and the wedding planners.

It’s basically Meet the Parents but with race relations.

I swear Kenya Barris is nothing but a Tyler Perry who can put together a coherent story. He does the same interracial themes all the time.

Might check this out, but I gotta really suspend belief to think Lauren London would fall for Jonah Hill and that David Duchovny could spawn him.

Yeah, there’s A LOT of suspension of disbelief needed for this movie. I was surprised by how little of David Duchovny was in here. Eddie Murphy was great as usual but I thought Julia Louis-Dreyfus was the MVP of the movie.

Yeah I didn’t buy they were in love or a couple. They were both good in their respective roles but just not believable as a couple.

I thought Jonah Hill and Lauren London had fine chemistry despite how weird it was seeing them together, but I guess that's more credit towards their performances, but their scenes mostly worked for me.

This was alright but nothing memorable outside of the bits with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, David Duchovny and Mike Epps who I wish was in this movie way more than he was and of course Eddie Murphy who was much funnier here IMO than he was in Coming 2 America even though I know that isn't saying much.

I'm always baffled by how this much talent can come together and produce a total misfire of a movie. Some of the worst editing and camera work I've seen in a long time that only highlights how truly awful Jonah Hill is in this. Great to see Eddie Murphy give such an understated and human performance here, and JLD really sells the inadvertent-tokenization without it getting too cartoonish. Hill and London you would think have never been in front of a camera before.
