I'm almost ashamed at the amount of thought and energy went into this choice; I have to go with Luke, and damn Lucas for cutting the legs out from under MacGregor and Jackson with those scripts. Obi-Wan should have been a slam dunk.

You know you can consider old Obi Wan in 4,5 and 6. let me again state this is a character chocie not movie choice. For clearly the best characters of the newer trilogy were Obi/Qui Gon and Darth Maul. Yoda is just Yoda the man. Except for the gressy puppet in Episode 1.

You know you can consider old Obi Wan in 4,5 and 6. let me again state this is a character chocie not movie choice. For clearly the best characters of the newer trilogy were Obi/Qui Gon and Darth Maul. Yoda is just Yoda the man. Except for the gressy puppet in Episode 1.

Regarding Obi-Wan, the older mentor of 4-6 has little to do but provide exposition and be the wise old codger; the character's only real time to shine on his own occurred in the preqs. And like Jackson, they had little more animation than their cardboard theater-standees. Simply taking Ewan's version out of the mix, I don't see why Guiness' Obi-Wan would overshadow Luke.

But that's just me
