Life is full of many lessons, many of which often have to be learned the hard way. So what are some of the biggest lessons that you have learned in life, whether it be with how to live, relationships, finance, etc?

I think for me, one of the biggest lessons I've learned is the importance of the value of self-worth and learning to love one's self in spite of many faults. I spent most of my teenage life trying to be someone else to impress people to the point that I didn't even know anything about myself. I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life because it was usually let it be dictated by others. It wasn't until recently that I began to find my identity and I've learned how important is is to say true to one's self.

I just wanted to say that I have been reading your posts over the last few weeks, and you seem to be a very concientious chap, who is constantly taking a good look at himself and trying to improve himself in all areas.
I think you are doing a bang up job on yourself, just be careful that you are not being *too* hard on yourself in your endevours of self improvement. Because you seem like a real nice guy who is doing his best, and doing well with it. You do not seem like the type of guy who has made mistakes that are as big as the ones i have made in my life.

You will probably avoid a lot of mistakes i have made in my life, and I wish I had started sorting myself out back when I was your age. I am still learning to improve myself, and live with my mistakes.
I honestly don't know if i could articulate my big lessons learned here tonight, it might get into being a little complicated and an extensive post if I go through them all, and i am pretty tired out. But I will have a go later on.
and you know what, i probably still have lessons to learn i do not know i have to learn yet.

Never sleep past 12 pm.
I hate it when I wake up past 12 pm, it makes me feel as if i wasted half of my day doing nothing.

Ok, unless this guy gets up early to steal people's newspapers or something, get him his angel's wings now.

Don't trust NOBODY.

*update*

Don't use double negatives.

As a great robo-man once said, "Dead or alive, you're coming with me."

Wait no, that's not right...

"Stay out of trouble." There we are.:awesome:

Treat others how you'd like to be treated.

I used to bully this kid in elementary school and I remember overwhelming guilt someday after. I was pretty nice guy from then on..

J Walter Weatherman taught me the importance of always leaving a note.

Do what you can for who you can, and don't try to over-extend your reach.

Don't trust a woman with your heart or wallet.

Don't trust a man with a woman.

Humor: Learn to laugh at everything, or everything will get you down. Smile, laugh, and make others do the same

My most important lesson? My sex drive...is something I rather not have, distracting. Annoying. Kinda like sleep. But I'm sure I can think of better lessons I've learned like this one...

Doing good in high school IS important.

Don't be too greedy - can end up costing you 20K. If you've got something good coming your way, take it and run with it - wait too long or think something better will come may cost you. Dearly.

Keep the faith. A man who has no faith has nothing. (A quote from my great uncle. No, not necessarily religious faith.)
Learning to say "That's not my problem." I'll help people, but I wont make it my duty to make them happy.

Don't fall in love unless you're absolutely sure that person is worth it.

I learned that entitlement gets you nowhere. Just because you went to uni or you give some money to charity it doesn't make you entitled to things. I was unemployed for 15 months and even though I knew the lesson I guess I didn't believe it enough.

In the last few months of unemployment I stopped saying "why can't I get a job" and started just looking on the bright side of life. That's when I got my dream job and I couldn't be happier :yay:

Women. Look good. Smell nice.

My father told me once...

Every lesson in life has a price tag. Some are more expensive than others.

How someone reacts to you says nothing about you, but the character of the person.
