What are your 5 favorite theme songs, in order? (1 being the best, 5 being the worst...obviously), and explain WHY.
I'll start:
1.) "The Living Daylights" - by A-Ha.
It has a hardcore-80's feel, but at the same time, it's such a "Bond song". It's by far the most catchy, I think. The singer's voice is very haunting. It really kicks off the debut of Dalton as the *new* Bond.
2.) "Goldfinger" - by Shirley Bassey.
A total classic, the opening titles start precisely as Bond closes the door, and the opening notes are extremely "emotional". Her voice is superb.
3.) "Diamonds are Forever" - by Shirley Bassey.
Again, Shirley Bassey was phenomenal, and the song has an excellent "70's" feel to it, while it's very musical at the same time. It's very catchy.
4.) "Goldeneye" - by Tina Turner.
A new standard for Bond songs, Tina Turner really brought an ass-whopping to the typical Bond theme. It's very dark and moody, while other Bond songs are "cheery" and "happy". I think this song is almost SCARY to an extent. It kind of gives me an uneasy feeling every time I hear it, and that's a good thing.
5.) "Tomorrow Never Dies" - by Sheryl Crow.
Once again, it totally "feels" like a Bond song, and Sheryl Crow's voice is really beautiful and PURE. It's a very good song, and I often find myself humming it.
