The Amazing Spider-Man Your trilogy...

Pasting something here that I posted in the Electro thread about my hopes for ASM2 and 3:

---

Pretty sure that Gwen will make it through this film, and the Norman will be completely set up to go full-on Goblin in ASM3.

Think about it. We've already got a major villain being portrayed by a major actor in ASM2. They've cast Mary Jane, but in what has been stated to be a relatively small role. They've cast Harry Osborn. So the way I see it, they will be introducing Harry, MJ, and most definitely Norman Osborn himself into this film universe, which will set the stage for the Green Goblin and the Death of Gwen Stacy storyline in ASM3.

What an epic way to end the series. Early on in ASM3, Gwen is shockingly killed by the Goblin (think Janet Leigh's early death in Psycho). Peter is wracked with guilt because it was he who indirectly killed Gwen, filled with anger, and he is alone again. Ultimately, he finds the strength to continue on as Spider-man, defeating the Goblin and ending the trilogy on an ambiguously positive note with Peter and MJ most likely getting together.

We've already seen so much of MJ in the last series. It makes perfect sense for Gwen to be the main love interest throughout this series, showing the impact that her life/death has had on Peter as he moves forward with his own life and with his next love. And with Green Goblin being the villain in the third film, we would KNOW that we were in an epic conclusion to this trilogy. Saving the best for last is really smart, IMO. And by then, it will have been at least 15 years since Raimi's Goblin.

^ What would be your idea for Lizard and Kraven?

I was aiming for Kraven's Last Hunt there but I realised that there needs to be more history between Spidey and Kraven for that to work, and it would take away important screen time from Lizard.

So I'd rather go for Lizard and the police forces (but very different from ASM).

I'd like for a trilogy like this to end with Spidey finally succeeding in saving someone close to him (Connors). It would end in a victory.

Maybe it would be cool (and necessary) to have Kraven in the mix as well, but Kraven's Last Hunt would be impossible to do in one film combined with Lizard's story and Peter's own development. So it would feel very unfortunate to finally have Kraven and still not use one of the best Spidey stories ever.

^ See, that's the biggest issue with Kraven and Lizard and why I even mixed it up with my idea. I'm not a fan of Vermin and I think Kraven and Lizard would work so well in a film together, but you could never do a Kraven's Last Hunt perfectly either.

I do like the idea of at the end of a trilogy, Spidey saves someone. But, that is another reason why I don't kill off Gwen in my idea because there's Uncle Ben, there's Captain Stacy...I want Spidey to know that he can save people and not have them die all around him. Imo, if Webb's trilogy ends with Gwen dying, I think that will be the trickiest thing to handle with giving Peter hope to continue on.

ASM 1:
1. Lizard
2. Beginning of Symbiote Saga- Spider-Man gets attached to the symbiote after smashing into it after getting hit By Lizard's Tail
3. Eddie Brock
4. Daily Bugle
ASM 2:
1. Electro
2. Spider-Man's Black Suit
ASM 3:
1. Spider-Man gets rid of the Black Suit
2. Eddie Brock becomes Venom
3. Venom vs Spider-Man
4. Spider-Man loses the battle
5. Venom kills Spider-Man

I'll leave the first movie as is, I could think up a lot of trilogies but I will stick to the one I would enjoy the most following the first movie in a nutshell.
TAS-M2- Gwen tells Peter that Oscorp has a alien life form which would introduce the Alien suit. Electro goes on a rampage which the Bugle wants pictures of this would introduce Eddie. MJ would be introduced as Eddie's gf. Harry would be introduced as one of Peter's classmates and they become close friends. Peter defeats Electro and he is locked up. Norman becomes the Goblin and causes the symbiote to escape as he causes chaos in Oscorp. Movie ends with the symbiote stalking Peter.
TAS-M3- The goblin goes on a rampage. MJ breaks up with Eddie due to her feelings for Peter as the two get to know each other as she is also in one of his classes. Eddie takes a picture of Peter in the Spidey costume. Tries to convince the Bugle that Peter is Spider-Man, Peters just makes a joke out of it by saying it was just a suit he bought for Halloween this year, he then blames Eddie for spying on him. Eddie loses his job and blames Peter. Meanwhile Spidey tries to stop the Goblin and fails, the symbiote tries to bond with Spidey but he catches it before it can bond. He takes it to Connor in his cell. Connor explains that it can increase his strength but effects his mind. Peter takes it back to his apartment and keeps it locked up. Goblin finds out Spidey is Peter threw Eddie and takes Gwen and kills her. Full of guilt for failing to protect so many that he loves, he believes more power is the answer and allows the symbiote to bond with him, Black Spidey over powers Goblin and is about to kill him when Harry who finds out his dad is the Goblin begs Spidey to spare him. Peter now seeing what he has become spares Goblin, only to have him use a weapon that ends up separating the symbiote. Goblin ends up killing himself as he fights Peter. The symbiote uses the fight to escape and bond with Eddie as he was checking out the scene. MJ goes out the Peter which the movie ends with Venom connecting the dots to blame Peter for everything. The movie ends setting the stage for TAS-M4 to feature only Venom.

I don't really feel that non-superhumans would appeal to a general audience to be totally honest. I think they'd rather see a person w/superpowers fighting another person w/superpowers. I think that was the problem with Superman Returns where most of the movie, we don't see Supes do jack!@#$ with his powers and instead get an hour and a half of him just moping. If this was a TV show, it'd be much more viable because you have much longer to build up plots and yet still have supervillains.

ASM 1:
1. Lizard
2. Beginning of Symbiote Saga- Spider-Man gets attached to the symbiote after smashing into it after getting hit By Lizard's Tail
3. Eddie Brock
4. Daily Bugle
ASM 2:
1. Electro
2. Spider-Man's Black Suit
ASM 3:
1. Spider-Man gets rid of the Black Suit
2. Eddie Brock becomes Venom
3. Venom vs Spider-Man
4. Spider-Man loses the battle
5. Venom kills Spider-Man
Oh ****...dat is teh craziest shiznit I've ever heard!

Am I the only one who thinks that making every villain "go on a rampage" is bit of a cop-out? :funny:

Film One: Pretty much the same as it is, but an additional fight scene in the subway and extended bridge and sewer fight. Also the introduction of Eddie Brock, JJJ, Osborns, and Doc. Octavius.

Film Two: Takes place a year later. Electro and Kraven as villains. Electro's origin is like it is in SSM. Kraven comes after hearing of New York's animal problems. He seeks Conners. Finds Spidey. They team up once. Ultimately, Electro goes crazy and kills Kraven. He nearly kills Spidey too. Tease GG. Tease symbiote.

Film Three: Shortly after film 2. Green Goblin and Chameleon as villains. GG's identity is up for debate throughout whole film. Chameleon works for GG after Spidey humiliates him. Death of Gwen Stacy. Black suit acquired. Black suit + Gwen's death = ultimate rage. Spidey actually kills GG. He gets rid of black suit at end. Last scene teases Venom.

Film Four: Takes place shortly after film 3. Venom is the villain. He tries to ruin Peter and Spidey's life. He even outs his identity, but Peter manages to throw everyone off. Ends with Eddie losing the symbiote and Peter looking back on his years as Spider-Man.

That's just the short description. I'm working on larger, more detailed versions.

Kinda. Certain villains, I think, should "go on a rampage" while others do not. For example, I don't think Green Goblin should go on a rampage because his plans should be more crafted, imo.
