Horror Zach Creggers’ Weapons

Strangely, I think I've gone this entire time without seeing any trailers or teasers for this- even as recently as when I saw Together this past weekend. So I'm going into this completely blind, and looking forward to seeing it on Friday.

Don't know if I'll get to theaters for this but excited by the reviews

Between this, and Jordan Peele's stuff, and all the amazing A24 movies, its time Horror starts getting some more damn awards recognition.

I’m going to be so disappointed if this ends up being this year’s Longlegs, but I’m gonna watch it Saturday with an open mind.

It’s got a good cast.

I thought longlegs was fine, not the masterpiece people made it out to be, but a fine creepy little serial killer/thriller movie
might I ask what you disliked so much about it??

ps.. glad to see you got your rightful name back! :snikt:

Lol they play too much, thanks homie.

But in the case of Longlegs, I thought it was beautifully shot, thought that Maika did the best she could, but that script was flimsy and the twist was wack.

Nic Cage did what he could too, but you’re from the Tri State. We’ve seen scarier “Longlegs” like him on the subway after dark. :sneeze:

I loved this. I found it refreshing and compelling, very well-acted and shot, and effectively creepy. One of my favorites this year along with Bring Her Back and Sinners. Possibly one of my favorite recent horror movies. Can't wait to watch it again.

9/10

I've never been happier to have gone into a movie completely blind in my life. Great sense of tension throughout, and the lack of a score throughout the majority of the film just added to an already uneasy situation as the mystery unfolds. Enjoyed the slow burn direction and in particular some of the camerawork that Creggers implemented here, and very much like Barbarian, it does take a few twists that I absolutely did not call...really did not call! It's going to make rewatches all the more entertaining because of how crucial so many characters end up being towards the finale.

And despite my growing distaste of crowded audiences in theaters, this movie played surprisingly well with the crowd at my cinema. Also nice to see a universe where Wong, Silver Surfer, and Cable all cross paths (yes, I said Cable instead of Thanos. Sue me.)

I have a few lingering questions though (mostly silly :o ):

What happened to Mr Grandy since the Silver Surfer was referred to as 'Mrs'?

- Was the child narrator one of the hypnotized kids?

- Why the hell didn't Silver Surfer lock her car doors when Aunt Gladys snatched that piece of her hair?

- How did the kids all get home after the spell was broken?
